Who: Cameron, Chuuya, Karl, and Neo
What: jewel heist
When: during the MC dock
Where: MegaCity jewelry store
Rating: low-med

Karl made his way to the agreed meeting point after the heist. With four of them, he was the one who got the plans, checked out security, and usually acted as a checkout these days, though he did enjoy still grabbing a few jewels, especially one to share with his wife for the chaos vibes. Though, he’d gotten his hands dirty tonight, literally. A guard came back from rounds earlier than planned for what Karl thought might be an impromptu bathroom stop. He’d Changed just enough that his right hand became a paw with claws, scratching him as he threw the guard against a wall. Not hard enough to do permanent damage, but enough he wouldn’t be a problem until after the spaceship left this city.

He sighed, annoyed at the guard because it meant a mess they didn’t fucking need. Karl held necklaces for the shop and a ring for Hope.

The werewolf paced, annoyed, because they never had this type of situation arise.

Back home, Neo was usually the getaway driver and also helped Roman sneak in and out of places using her Semblance. This time, however, she simply tricked the security cameras, creating the illusion that everything was normal. It would only be temporary though, as she could only keep it up for so long.

After snagging a few pieces of jewelry herself, Neo went and waited outside. It wasn't too long before she saw Chuuya and Cameron walking out, each with a few dufflebags full of jewels. She didn't join them, however. Instead, she stayed behind to keep the illusions up until she was sure they were gone. Once she was sure they were far away enough, she stopped using her Semblance. Both the illusions and Neo herself were long gone by the time the security guards had noticed all the jewelry were missing.

So far, the heist had gone off without a hitch. Which Chuuya found a bit boring. He often thrived in the midst of blood and violence, but Neo's illusions were so good, the security guards were completely fooled. But even though Chuuya wished there was a little more excitement, he did think Neo did a good job with her illusions.

He and Cameron managed to steal a lot of jewels before leaving. Then the two of them separated so they wouldn't attract any attention, and Chuuya made his way to the meeting point. Karl was there first and Chuuya noticed the werewolf was annoyed.

"Something happen?" he asked. Then he smelled a familiar scent of strawberries and cream and glanced up. Neo was floating down towards them, holding her parasol, like some pink haired Mary Poppins. Now they just had to wait for Cameron to arrive, but he wasn't too worried.

Cameron was glad to be a part of this heist because she really needed that rush that came from a job. Since showing up here, she could feel that itch, but at least she had behaved. Normally, she was the one dressing the team for certain parts they had to look, but also for the more reckless shit. That, and the distraction or the person putting on a show to draw attention away. It felt good to be on a mission that wasn’t descending into chaos like the last one due to Berlin. Normally, she wouldn’t mind chaos, but she needed a break after the last job. Grabbing as much jewelry as she could fit, focusing more on the ones she could tell were worth more, but she grabbed what she could, throwing it in the dufflebags.

Heading in the direction planned for her, she ran into someone a bit too curious for his own good about what was in her bag. Faking tears about how men are assholes and that she caught her sister in bed with her boyfriend. The scream of hating men mixed with the sobs caused the man to hightail it away. Once he was out of sight, the tears were gone as if it had never happened, though she was sure her makeup was a mess. Whatever, she’d deal with it after! Heading to the planned meeting spot, she made her way inside, dropping her bags with the others, “All here, it seems.” She moved over to check her reflection and wipe off the bit of mascara that had run down her face. No loss, and it wasn’t the first time, which was the reason for the makeup as it always sold the act when it was needed.

Karl glanced at Chuuya. “Yeah. Some guard is going to wake up swearing he was attacked by a man with claws. But he broke the pattern and I know Neo’s good with illusions, but he was headed in her direction.” Did the werewolf sound annoyed? Yes. Did he care? Absolutely the fuck no. He could be prickly on a good day, but right now he stretched instead. His mood wasn’t helped by the fact he needed to Change and run once this ended. Putting off a Change usually didn’t end well, but hard to do it in a fucking spaceship.

“You two look like you made out well. Great job, Neo.” Karl didn’t mind working on a team. While not Pack, it did scratch his jewel heist itch. He heard Cameron perfectly and clapped in her direction. “Love the acting. A+.”

Neo landed softly beside Karl and Chuuya, listening silently as Karl told them what had put him in a sour mood. Fortunately, she hadn't run into any guard, but it was a bit impossible as Neo could easily blend in to her surroundings. She could even do it without her Semblance, being so quiet and all. It made sneaking around for her easy.

She heard footsteps and turned to see Cameron arriving. Noticing the runny mascara, she raised an eyebrow but quickly figured out what happened and gave her friend an amused smirk.

"How annoying." Chuuya had figured there'd be a few snags during the heist, but it looked like only Karl and Cameron had run into a bit of trouble. But he figured Karl could handle it, which it seemed like he did, even though he had to Change. Cameron had been able to deal with it as well with her acting skills, which Chuuya had been a little curious about.

"Yeah, both of you did great," he said. Neo grinned and took a quick bow.

She had caught some of what happened to Karl as she had come in. Cameron was glad it worked out and that nothing too horrible happened, like back home, which was what mattered to her. The clap in her direction, she stopped what she was doing to do a bit of a dramatic bow as if she was on a stage, “The man will have a story to tell, that’s for sure,” she said with a smirk, giving a small nod to her friend, Neo. Turning to finish off the other eye, she checked herself to see it was all gone, then moved over to join the others. “Thank you. At least, we will be long gone to the next stop before any investigation gets started. And I mean, the man will most likely keep the whole claw attack to himself to avoid looking like he might be getting a bit high on the job.”

Karl rolled his eyes, but he laughed now that the heist ended. “Annoying, but it could have gone worse.” He stretched again, feeling his neck cracking.

“Great job. We seem to work well together.” Which meant Cameron could stay on the team in Karl’s opinion.

“I hope he keeps the claw thing to himself.” Karl smirked. “This stop worked well. We have enough until the fall and the start of the Holiday season. I think.”

Neo was glad the heist went fine. Yes, she had been hoping for more chaos, but this was their first heist together, so maybe it was a good thing there hadn't been too much trouble.

She listened silently as she dropped another illusion, this time, revealing that she had been wearing a few necklaces, which she had stolen just before leaving the store. She took them off and handed them over to Chuuya who quickly put them in one of his dufflebags.

"I'm glad it didn't, though I'm sure you could've handled it." Chuuya had known Karl for a while now. They were partners in crime and knew what the other was capable of.

"I agree. I certainly wouldn't mind if you came and worked with us on a more regular basis," he told Cameron. She had certainly proved herself in his opinion and he would be okay with her working with them again, if she wanted.

"Me too, although it would be amusing to see how he'll explain that." Though yes, he would imagine that people will just think the guy was on drugs. "I'm sure we do, but I still would rather count and see how much we have now."

Cameron knew this was a test run before she was even considered able to join, which she could understand. They didn’t know her history like Berlin when he brought her on the team back home. Here, she had to show her worth, and from the sounds of it, she proved useful. Which was another reason she was glad nothing chaotic or anything bad happened. Otherwise, she might actually have to find a normal job and die of boredom at a very young age.

An amused smirk appeared when she saw her friend wearing some pieces. At the offer, she couldn’t help but smile. “I would love that. Then I don’t have to slave away at a normal job and slowly plan a murder out of boredom.” If she was stuck at a job that had her losing her mind, she might cause someone to lose theirs to amuse herself. “Thank you for the offer, and I gladly accept,” which only fueled the rush coursing through her that she tended to feel on a high from a job or doing something dangerous. She couldn't think of anything better because she’d be able to do more of this.

“And hopefully, by then, if the count is correct, we have a new place that works like this did.” Cameron hoped it was somewhere amazing, if the dome did work in their favor when it came time.

Karl added his own jewelry to Chuuya’s bag, save the ring. His wife didn’t care so much for the jewelry as she did the chaos vibes. Which Chuuya knew. He didn’t mind the lack of complications for the first time pulling a heist together. This meant they could easily do one in the future.

He laughed at Neo. “That’s a handy power.”

The werewolf understood Chuuya’s need to count. But he didn’t know if he could put off his Change by an hour or so. “No murder.” But he understood. Karl helped with security systems back home and had been stealing less since becoming a father. Here though? No. He would die of boredom.

“Are you good to count without me? I wouldn’t ask but…” Karl looked embarrassed. “With the ship I put off my Change and if I don’t find somewhere to do it soon, it will be forced on me.” And he did not want anyone witnessing how much pain his Changes caused him. He trusted Chuuya at this point and knew he’d tell Karl just how much they stole.

Neo knew that Cameron would do a good job, but a small part of her did worry that something bad would happen. Yes, she knew the other woman had experience with going on a heist and all that, but there was a difference between knowing and seeing it in action. Thankfully, both Karl and Chuuya were impressed by both of them.

She grinned when Cameron accepted their offer. Guess everything worked out just fine.

She winked at Karl. Her Semblance indeed was a handy power and it definitely worked for crimes such as this.

"Welcome then," Chuuya nodded towards Cameron. He smirked. "As much as I would like to see you kill someone, I agree with Karl. No murder." But he too understood. He had tried the whole job thing at the casino, but he eventually grew bored of it. He didn't murder anyone, but he had thought about it plenty of times. He was grateful he met Karl and that they decided to go on jewel heists.

"Yeah, that's cool. You just deal with your Change." He turned to the two women. "And what are you two going to do after your first successful heist? Celebrate, I imagine?" He doubted they would want to help him count. Which was fine, he could do it himself easily.

She doubted any job could be the shit show that went down with her last one; however, she had not put that thought out in the world just in case someone decided to make her eat those words. But now she could, considering it went well, only now she had her adrenaline pumping and would need to feed that rush, which she figured would be no problem. “I’d rather not be killing people when I am stuck with no escape, so this job is a great way to avoid that,” she added with a smirk.

Cameron ran her fingers through her dark hair, nodding since it was wise from the sounds of it that Karl went and bailed to do what he needed. “If you need the help, I don’t mind staying behind to help in counting.” She didn’t mind, especially since she’d done it before. “Though either way after, I’ll probably go out to have some drinks, maybe a little bit of trouble, and who knows what else the night is young.” She knew no matter what, she’d need to burn off the rest of the adrenaline that was building, or she’d be wired for the rest of the night. “What about you?” She turned her attention to Neo, figuring she’d probably be along the same lines as her regarding plans.

Karl nodded at the group before he ran. He’d have to find an ally to stash his clothes, but texted Nick where to find him.

Neo watched as Karl ran off. Part of her was curious about him Changing, but it sounded like he preferred to do that alone and she'd respect his wishes. She also wasn't too worried about him either, figuring they'd see him the next day or so.

She shrugged at Cameron's question. She wasn't sure what she was going to do, but she was game for anything.

Unlike Neo, Chuuya simply shrugged as Karl left. He was used to his partner leaving to go Change. He turned to Cameron. "That'd be great. Actually, how about after we count, I'll buy you both a drink. I think you deserve one after a job well done."

Neo nodded with a smile. She was definitely down for that and could use a drink. With the three of them, counting the jewels shouldn't take long.

Cameron watched Karl run off to do the whole changing thing before turning to the remaining two that were left. “Well, then count me in for a drink after counting,” she figured she could burn off that energy after a drink; knowing her, she knew it would still be there. Probably screaming by then, which would lead to something even more reckless, but hey, she only lived once, and no one was going to stop her from enjoying that one life. “Alright then, let's get started,” she said as she picked up one of the bags to start counting.
