Of course, Thorin would always be proud of his nephews; one of the things he had learned in Middle Earth was that life was too short to worry about perception. He didn't care what other people thought of their 'royal bloodline' anymore. He would always be proud of where he came from, and he no longer felt the need to have someone else validate that for him. And he certainly hoped that Kili and Fili felt the same way.
"I do like it here" he replied, nodding his head slightly in agreement with what Kili had said. "It's very refreshing to not have to worry about a battle that we know we can't win" he added, thinking about what he himself would be going back to.
"I certainly would prefer to stay here and make a life for myself. And I hope for the same thing for both you and Kili".
