The softened expression and the squeezing of her should told Clem that Allison was grateful for efforts and that meant a lot. She knew that she couldn't do much. She was only a little girl after all, and then there was her condition as well, but that never stopped her from trying her best. That was something that she had learned from her father; never give up. He hadn't given up on finding out what was wrong with her, and she wasn't about to give up on living as normal of a life as she could.
"Oh, I made two dozen of each, so there's plenty. I wanted to have some left over as special treats for Henry and I for our walks to the park" she replied, a little grin shining through on her face. "We've been a lot more careful, even taking our own treats instead of going into town to buy things. I am too scared after that guy caused Henry to hurt his paw getting me away from him" she admitted, her eyes tearing up a little at the thought of her best friend's recent injury.
But she didn't want to ruin their evening with those kinds of thought, so she wiped her arm on her sleeve and pushed the sadness away. "Sorry about that" she said right away, wanting Allison to know that she hadn't meant to bring up something so sad to put a damper on their good times.
Henry had of course, followed them into the kitchen and when he sensed that Clem was upset, he made his way closer to her and nuzzled at her side to comfort her. Her hand instantly went to his head, scratching behind his ear. "Thanks boy" she whispered.
