The door opened and Clem's smiling face greeted her. In the next instant, the young girl's arms were around her in a tight hug. Allison couldn't help, but smile at the gesture and at the young woman hugging her. The brunette quickly returned it. She was so grateful that Clem and her were getting along so well. She had never expected Clem to look at her like a mother, but the fact that she wanted to be around her meant everything to Allison.
"Hey and of course. You know I love spending time with you and Henry," Allison replied, brushing a piece of hair behind Clem's ear gently. And she truly meant that. Being around Clem reminded her of being around Claire. It was the same with Rowan. She felt lucky to have two people in her life that she considered daughters.
At Clem's next words, Allison gave the girl a reassuring smile. "Of course it is okay. I'm proud of you for being so responsible," Allison assured her. Once they parted from the embrace and Allison had kicked off her shoes, she took Clem's hand and padded into the living room. The brunette set down her purse and bag then turned her attention on Clem and Henry.
"I think I should try one of those chocolate chip cookies," Allison said.
