Nate still couldn't believe just how well he had settled into this new place, because he had been certain that his time here would be miserable without his friends and Sophie. But things had certainly improved since then. Not only did he have Shosanna now, but he had also managed to make a friend and for him that was a big thing. It wasn't that Nate was anti-social or anything like that, but more that he didn't really trust people very easily. So, for him to have let two people into his life in such a big way meant that for only the second time in his life he had found somewhere that he felt like he really belonged. That was more than likely the main reason that he found himself wanting to be more social than he had ever been before. So much so, that he had actually invited Doc over to his house for dinner. He seemed like the nice thing to do and honestly it would be nice to have some guy time. He knew that since it was a guy's night in, he didn't want to do anything too fancy. But he also didn't want to just order take out. His friend certainly deserved better than that. So, he had decided that he would do something that he hadn't done in a long while. He was going to make homemade Pizza and wings and then he had ordered some higher quality booze to be delivered to the house. This way they could chill on the couch and watch some action movie or interesting documentary on the tv. Or they could always just sit around the coffee table and chat; maybe even play a hand or two of poker. All of that sounded like a fun night in to him, and he hoped that Doc would agree. As the time of their planned evening approached, Nate had taken a shower and then rushed downstairs to get the pizzas and wings in the oven. He knew that they wouldn't take long to bake, and he didn't want them getting cold before Doc arrived. Right on time, the timer for the oven went off and he pulled them out of the oven and set them on the rack in his kitchen to keep warm. Then he made his way into the living room to wait on Doc. |
