Caroline was trying to allow both Josie and Lizzie to live their own lives. As much as she appreciated them being there for her, she also wanted them to know that they could focus on themselves too. That they deserved to focus on themselves. She was glad that Josie seemed to be doing that more lately.
Caroline smiled. "Then I am doing my job right," she replied. If her daughters felt safe enough around her to be open and honest, then Caroline was doing what she set out to do: be a good, loving mother to the twins. She always wanted them to be able to come to her when they needed someone in their corner, no matter how difficult the situation might be.
The blond listened as Josie explained about Wednesday. "Well, maybe try and take things slow? Do only one or two social things a week," Caroline suggested gently. "That way she's not feeling overwhelmed."
