Josie felt the movement on the couch when her mother joined her, so of course she looked up right away. She heard her mother's question and held up her book to show her mom; it was a teen romance with a young girl on the cover. It was Beautiful Creatures. It was one of the novels, she had just picked up and liked the idea of the story. She was only a couple of chapters in, but so far, she was liking what she read. Honestly, she was just happy that her mother was interested in what she was reading. Most parents took little to no interest in their children's hobbies, but not Caroline. She always wanted to be as involved as possible.
"It looked interesting when I saw it in the store, and so far, it's good" she replied, loving that the two of them could talk about things like this. She was already debating about talking to her about Wednesday, and she had already decided that if the topic came up, she would certainly go there. She knew that her mother was the last one to judge, and hopefully the two of them could talk some more.
She leaned in closer to her mother as they talked; there was something about cuddling up with her mom that just made everything better. Her book now lay on the table, forgotten for the moment. Yes, she loved to read but spending time with her mother always came first.
"How was your day mom?" she asked, as she laid over to rest her head in her mother's lap, almost feeling like a younger kid again.
