When it came to being a little more social, Josie felt like she was doing a bit better, but she also knew that she still had a way to go. That was why she was trying to continue making small steps in the right direction, hoping that as time passed, she would find herself finally settled in. Her most recent step was reaching out to Landon and inviting him out for tea. She thought that it would be a good way to catch up with him, since she hadn't really done so since her arrival in Madison. So, this was an evening that was honestly long overdue, but she hoped that he would understand, and this could be the start of them building a new and better friendship here. So, when he agreed she had made arrangements with him to meet at one of her favorite tea places after school that day. Fortunately, she didn't have much homework that evening, because she had gotten most of it done in Study Hall. So, she could stay out a little longer and really spend some time getting to know him again. School was over quickly enough for Josie, and she rushed home to change and drop off her school supplies. She didn't want to take her backpack with her to the Coffee Shop, and she wanted to change into a more comfortable pair of shoes. It had been a bad call to wear her new boots to school; since they hadn't been broken in, they had been bothering her feet all day long. Fortunately, it didn't take her long and she still managed to make her way into the tea shop a full hour ahead of the time they had agreed to meet. She didn't want to order without him though, because she thought that would be rude. So, she made her way over to one of the empty tables and took the seat facing the door. Since, she still had a while to wait she pulled out her phone and began playing one of the puzzle games she had on there to keep herself occupied. It certainly made the time pass quicker and before she knew it the alarm, she had set on her phone was buzzing to remind her that it was nearly time for him to arrive. So, she put her phone away in the hopes that she would see him as soon as he walked in. |
