Well I got to say I'm glad there seems to be no more brown outs today. Not that it's the end of the world, but it's easier to do the laundry when you don't have to restarted it twelve times.

I agree so much on the laundry thing -- and I've got two small children who are very energetic and seem to think it's their job to get everything they wear dirty.

It kept knocking the registers offline at work -- honestly, far more annoying to have the register going offline every hour or so than it was to have them down for days on end.

These power outages and brownouts have convinced me it's time to get off my ass and get a house. Being stuck without power in the cold in an apartment I don't own, with no fireplace or wood stove, is not something I want to go through again.

It would be. But landlords tend to frown tenants making such changes to their apartments. So...a house.
