It'd been an awkward first couple of months at the dispatch center, but once he'd been there for a while the others had apparently realized that he was damn good at his job, that he actually knew what he was doing. Which was good, because he did -- and he loved every second of it. Yeah, the pace was infinitely slower than back in LA and he was about ready to take up crochet for when he landed the overnight shifts that tended to be fairly slow with nothing happening, but it was a job he knew. Just like he knew how lucky he was in that regard, because a lot of people weren't.
And settling in meant that his coworkers had gotten used to him, which in turn meant that he actually had something resembling a social life on the nights where he hadn't pulled an overnight shift.
Though sometimes he was at home with Christopher, if Eddie was working and K-Mart wasn't.
Tonight was one of those "having a social night" times, and since he didn't work the next day he'd been perfectly alright with his coworkers dragging him out to Pandemonium. It wasn't entirely his scene -- though at least it wasn't making him feel like he was at least ten years too old to be there -- but he was enjoying it nonetheless.
And only about half of that was because the bartender was hot.
What? Josh could be shallow with the best of them sometimes, alright?
He left his coworkers good-naturedly arguing about... something or other... and headed to the bar. Totally just for the alcohol.
