Who: Crowley & Leonard Snart
What: Just a chat in a bar
When: Thursday evening
Where: Verdant
Warnings: Will change if needed, but none
Status: Closed/Ongoing/Match up

All Hallow's Eve was creeping in to take over the town, and Crowley was one of the few beings in town not at all amused or enthralled by it. What had once been an actual magical and spiritual time was now so commercialized, that Crowley had ceased to be annoyed that he hadn't capitalized on it when he had the chance and was now just annoyed at it.

This was why he was at Verdant this evening instead of anywhere else because for the moment it wasn't overrun with 'spooky stuff'. At least no one had handed him a holiday drink menu yet, which he was glad of, because the last thing he wanted to think about right now was pumpkin spice rum or something horrible like that.

He turned and narrowed his gaze at a gentleman nearby. "How many times have you been here now?"

Leonard didn't do the holidays. Sure, he partook in Barry's hot cocoa despite the lack of mini marshmallows, but that hardly made him in love with the season. As a child, holidays were nothing special. For a while, his mother tried to make them something important for Lisa and him, but, after she left, his father didn't bother keeping any of those traditions alive. He was too drunk and beating the crap out of his children was his favorite distraction from how miserable his life was. Plus, there were always heists to plan and partake in. That mattered more than taking his kids around for candy or promoting a belief in Santa. Not like Leonard ever believed anyway. He was too realistic for that crap even as a child.

Thankfully, Verdant wasn't stuffing pumpkin spice down anyone's throat and the decorations were tasteful. Sara was realistic too and she knew how to put people in the spirit of things at the club without suffocating them in it. The thief was currently on break when the man beside him spoke up and his question had Leonard chuckling.

"Four. And before you ask, I don't remember who the hell you are," Leonard replied. "This place didn't see it fit to give me any memories of any of my prior times here. Madison can be one hell of a cruel mistress sometimes."

Crowley shrugged because it was true, and no one could deny it. "Sometimes remembering isn't all that enjoyable either. Especially when a person isn't at their best at one point."

He did enjoy the memory of keying Winchester's car though.

His point was valid. While he knew there were good memories of experiences with Sara with other versions of him, he was also acutely aware that there might have been some terrible ones too. And not even just memories with Sara. It could be with anyone. It was that reason he was slightly okay with not remembering his previous time in Madison Valley.

"You have a point," Leonard replied, lifting his water glass to his lips. When he was on duty, Leonard didn't partake in anything alcoholic. While Leonard would never be a drunk like the ones he threw out of here, he didn't like to even be in the ball park with them.

"Which is why I'm slightly okay with not remembering my previous lives here."

"I'm actually glad I remembered this time. Considering the situation with a few people from my world, it was good to have allies that I could turn to when I came back."

And Johanna was definitely a plus in the situation here, even if they didn't advertise it the way some people in town did with their relationships.

"I will say, the town has moved up a bit since the last time I was here though."

Leonard could understand that. While his main reason for wanting his memories back were because of Sara, he did also like the idea of having allies here too. Unfortunately, now he had to start from scratch in that department. Mostly. It seemed like the people that knew him before seemed to be willing to give him a shot in the friendship department again.

"Oh? What was it like the last time you were here?" Leonard asked curiously. "Maybe it could help fill in some of the blanks for me."

"Boring." Which was saying something, because it was still Indiana. "Transportation services didn't exist, so there were no little holidays off to wherever. On the plus side, the dome was a bit less moody."

"Then there were the crazed idiots running the town. Jumping at shadows and demanding blood tests for certain jobs and hassling anyone who was trying to start a business." It was almost like the witch trials all over again.

Less moody. Was the trade off from bad things happening more often the chance to leave this place? Oddly, it made sense to Leonard. Given what he'd witnessed in Central City and during his travels on the Waverider, Leonard was far more open minded about the existence of magic and supernatural forces. It truly sounded like the town was magic and that it also was a sentient being.

"I don't like the sound of it being more moody, but I'll take the lack of idiots running around, harassing people any day," Leonard replied, reaching for his glass of water for another sip.

"I will take a moody dome over the other options I have experienced and heard about." The other Madison Valley from last year was not his idea of fun at all. It gave him flashbacks to Apocalypse world and his death.

His phone buzzed then and Crowley glanced at the message. "It appears I am being summoned to appreciate some new axes. Hopefully we can talk another time."

"Sound far more exhilarating than the rest of my night. Enjoy yourself." The mention of axes reminded Leonard he meant to check out that Bad Axe place at some point during his stay. Maybe he would get a chance to see those new axes this guy was talking about.
