“Maybe so and it fucking sucks that this place is like that, but you can still hope it isn’t a complete piece of shit,” Max told him. Most people and things did whatever they wanted, she saw it from more than enough people. “This place can fucking suck with some of the things I heard about.” Though she also knew it had a lot of good, and if her future was as bad as she feared, then this place might be useful for her.
Max knew about them, thanks to the comics she had back home. So what if many didn’t see it as a girl activity, she enjoyed them and loved them more than putting makeup on. The same when it came to her skateboard and people feeling it wasn’t girly enough. “My friend is a badass and one awesome superhero,” she was being careful since if El showed up, it was on her whether she wanted to tell people or not. “Yes, I have some of the comics even if I’m more of a DC person than Marvel. My friend who is here ended up with one of the Avengers as a guardian.” Though Max also had her own badass guardian who had abilities and could save the day.
“I’m from 1985.” It still felt weird saying that and even more weird to know her friends were from further along than she was.
