Juliet was excited about not only getting a night out with her husband, but that they got to dress up for a formal event that was going on. She knew this was very awkward on how she was sharing a room with Gus rather than Shawn. But tonight, she was hoping to get his mind off of the dome being a real trouble starter and enjoy a night with just the two of them. Maybe after the two could find an empty room to use or get one of their roomies to stay with the other for the night.
Her hair was curled and she was wearing a light blue strapless dress that she had fallen in love with and decided to pick up for tonight. It had felt a bit more like before the two lived together with Shawn coming to get her at her room, but it was adorable, and her husband with no surprise looked good. When the two entered into the place where the dance was being held, her eyes widened in amazement at how gorgeous the whole place looked.
“I’d say this is probably one of our best date nights. And this whole place is gorgeous,” she commented, turning her attention back to the room. “What should we check out first?”

Shawn decided to go full out for Juliet tonight. He got a suit that had a vest and everything. See? Super fancy! He even did his hair. He was going to woo his wife tonight. He only slightly felt intimidated that Juliet and Gus were sharing a room. He and Gus had talked it out on day one. Besides, it helped to remember that Gus was in the same boat with Martha. It helped that his wife was gorgeous and was walking into the formal with him and definitely not Gus.
At the question, Shawn’s brain immediately yelled food, but his mouth somehow blocked the knee-jerk reaction. He moved to be in front of her and did a bit of a showy half bow like they were in medieval court. “Care for a dance, M’lady?”
–
Juliet couldn’t help herself how she kept looking over at her husband, who was looking very handsome, and she felt special about how he got himself all dressed up to take her to this formal. Anyone who spent five minutes with Shawn knew this was not his thing, which was why she appreciated it so much and it made her love him even more. She didn’t think it was possible; however, this showed why she fell in love with him: he did things like this, and Juliet found it completely adorable.
An eyebrow raised with a confused look showed up at first on him moving in front of her, which quickly turned into one hand covering her mouth in surprise at how perfect her husband was. On the inside, she was screaming like a teenage girl who just got asked out by their high school crush, but she was controlling herself to the point that it was definitely not showing on the outside. "I’d be honored, Shawn," she said with a small little curtsy that brought a laugh and a hint of pink to her cheeks from the blushing. Juliet took his arm and led him towards the dance floor.
"You know, I may be biased, but I think I have the best husband here." Even when Shawn was being Shawn, she still loved him and most of his craziness.
—
Shawn knew he had flaws. He didn’t usually admit it to anyone, and he often tried to change the subject when that kind of thing was brought up, but Shawn wasn’t actually an idiot most of the time. He was lucky that Jules loved him and he liked making her happy. That surprised expression and then the blush was everything It made Shawn’s smile widen and warm.
“Only because the best husband has a beautiful and smart wife in the first place.” Juliet managed to calm him a little, though to most people who hadn’t met him before Juliet might find that hard to fathom.
He started to lead her in a dance to the music. “I should have taken you to more ice formals back home.” Really he meant ‘gala’ or ‘dance’, but this is how it came out of Shawn Spencer’s mouth.
–
Juliet knew a lot of people both here and back home thought he was an idiot, and oh, she knew he made a whole lot of idiotic choices. But she knew he was far from an idiot. If anything, it was the choices and ideas that he sometimes came up with that fell into the idiot category, especially when they put him and Gus in danger.
"Well, that’s a given, but you ended up taking me over her. How will she feel about that?" She asked, fighting back the laugh and smile that wanted to appear on her face as she said it. The smile was a lot harder to fight back. With Shawn all dressed up, him being so adorable, and just this date, it made it pretty close to impossible to win the fight to keep a serious expression when asking that question.
She allowed him to lead, the serious expression that she had been playing at now replaced with a smile as she looked at her husband. "Shawn, we’re not exactly the ice formal type of people. It’s something you do once in a while, but I could never be one of those people who do it like once a month." It would get boring, and with it being once in a while, it made the whole thing special. "I have no problem with our normal date nights, though I may need to request once in a while one where you have to dress up like this," she took one hand to touch the end of his vest. If she could get that, then she’d consider this date and trip a whole win already.
—
Shawn did one of his shocked faces at her comment about another woman, then he sobered into something just as playful. “It was the toes, I tell you. Perfect in every way except her toes. Jam for days.” Yep, he said that.
He did like the way she was touching his vest though. His expression softened to that of ‘I will do anything for you Jules’ which was convenient since she was the only one capable of getting that from him. “The suit does it for you then, huh? Consider it done. I will add this baby to my rrrrreptoire.” He made the last word super French and then wiggled his eyebrows at her, continuing with the over-the-top accent. “Mon Amore.”
–
A chuckle came from his shocked face before turning into a look of disgust at his comment. Making a face at the image that he just put into her head and hitting him softly with one of her hands. “Really, Shawn?!? I did not need that image in my head and now it’s all in my head,” she laughed, but also still had a look of being grossed out at the image. “You can always get those fixed. Or hide them, it’s really easy to get around.” Damn him though she would focus on how handsome he looked, and hopefully, get the gross images he caused out of her head.
Juliet didn’t need that look because she knew. Yes, her husband was a lot to handle, but she also knew he would always have her back and would be there for her. No matter what he did, she knew it came from the right place mostly just probably wasn’t always handle in the best way. Or came with the best plan of action on his part. “Can you really blame me? I think you put all the other men in here to shame when wearing it,” she told him with a smile. Juliet only had eyes for one guy even though the dome kept trying to mess with that, and that man was her husband. “Good because I have no problem at all with this suit coming out more,” she shook her head, trying to fight back a laugh at his over-the-top accent, knowing it’d only encourage him. “I love you,” she said before kissing him softly.
—
He had to resist the urge to comically murmur into her kiss that he loved her too. Something in his head that sounded a lot like Gus told him that doing so might break 'the mood' so he managed to wait until after the kiss to reply. "I love you too Jules. I'm really glad we're here together." He was. He had been a very sad puppy with her not in Madison.
"Hungry? We should probably get all the good food before Gus eats it all. He said he'd save us a seat with him and Martha."
–
“Of course, I couldn’t imagine being here with anyone else,” she said before realizing what he might actually be talking about. “I’m glad the place decided to bring me and not leave you here all alone.” Juliet didn’t add about having her show up when he started to move on because she didn’t even want to think about it. The idea of him with anyone else would break her heat. Not wanting to be in his shoes since he had to deal with her and Gus as a gift from the dome or more a present that no one wanted.
Juliet laughed before playfully swatting him in the arm with her hand. “He’s not going to eat it all. I’m hungry though so I like the sound of this plan. Food, then we try to find where they decided to sit,” she said without even waiting for him to agree as she led him off the dance floor, holding hands as they went to get some food.
