Juliet had gone to bed like normal with her husband, wearing along the lines of what she would often wear to bed. A shirt and a pair of underwear. The fact she had gone to bed with her husband was the reason feeling another body next to her had done nothing to alert her to something being very wrong. It wasn’t until she opened one eye that she noticed the arm draped over her was definitely not Shawn’s. Quickly turning her head to look, her eyes widened in horror at noticing that it wasn’t Shawn, but Gus who she was in bed with.
A scream came out of her mouth before she could even think about it, and quickly got up out of bed. Thank god she had clothes on, but even what she had on still had her feeling very awkward. “Plus side it’s someone I know and consider family rather than a stranger,” her voice trying to see the positive side of this whole very awkward ordeal. Her eyes finally taking in the room, drawing her focus away from the whole waking up next to Gus. “Where are we? And where the hell is Shawn?” Was she going to find out her husband woke up with Martha or someone else? The dome really needed to stop with her and Gus.
*
The previous night was a rare one that Martha didn’t have to work late and they actually got to go to bed together. Gus liked that living in the same place made it easier to share a bed, even if it wasn’t an every night sort of thing due to differing schedules. He was vaguely aware of the person next to him getting out of bed abruptly and thought maybe his girlfriend had received a message about some kind of medical emergency.
Rubbing his eyes as he struggled to sit, he recognized the voice before he managed to see her. “Jules? What the…” He looked around and realized this was not his room in the TARDIS, Martha’s room in the TARDIS, or the apartment he’d held on to just in case something ever happened to the TARDIS.
“I have no…” he started to say as he stood, but the moment he was on his feet, he was hit with a wave of nausea and dizziness. Making a noise that vaguely sounded like a squeaking rodent, he dashed towards the door he hoped led to the bathroom, just making it in time to empty his stomach.
*
Her fingers ran through her blonde hair, trying to wrap her brain around whatever the hell the dome was up to this time. The dome really had a sick joy in putting her and Gus together, making her even more annoyed with the dome for doing it once again. God, she didn’t even want to think about what Shawn was going to do or say about this. On top of that, Juliet had no idea if this gorgeous room was seen as a good or bad thing. Fearing, it could change rather quickly with whatever the dome had planned for the people stuck in the town.
Juliet was watching Gus with concern when he stood up, noticing he didn’t look great. She moved out of the way when he made a dash for a closed door, and made a face when she heard the sound of him getting sick. "I didn’t think I looked that bad in the morning," she called to him, trying to lighten this awkwardness with a joke. Giving Gus a moment to himself, she held off on searching the room other than going over to the fridge and looking inside, only to find nothing there. A small sigh left her lips as Juliet went back over to where Gus was, wanting to check on him and wishing she had a water bottle to offer him. Though she’d call down for one after checking on him. "How are you doing?" She asked, leaning against the door, watching him with concern written all over her face.
*
Gus wished he could appreciate Juliet’s joke, but between being sick and the confusion over waking up somewhere strange with his best friend’s wife, his brain wasn’t exactly firing on all cylinders. After a few minutes, he shakily stood and moved to the sink to rinse his mouth and splash his face with some cold water.
“We must be on a boat,” he said. Nothing else would make him this sick. “I don’t know how we got here or why we’re here.” The dome must have done something. “We need to find Shawn and Martha.”
*
Juliet wasn’t at all surprised or offended by him not making any comments on the joke. If she were in his shoes, she'd be more concerned with the throwing up issue than with the stupid comment. The joke did make her feel better for about five seconds about waking up in bed with Gus rather than her husband, and now having the sounds of someone being sick quite clearly with no other noises in the room at the moment.
She had already guessed they were on a boat or, more likely, a cruise based on the papers she noticed while heading over to check the fridge. Something they’d need to stock before the cruise left port, but that was a concern to worry about later on. Gus and his illness were the primary concerns at the time. Holding up a hand when Gus went on about needing to find Shawn and Martha. "Not so fast! We need to first deal with you since you won’t be making it far unless we deal with this situation first." She told him, hoping he’d go sit on the bed and take it easy for a few moments. "Besides a cold water, is there anything you want me to order to the room?" She wasn’t completely sure what helped someone who suffered from seasickness other than the medication that helped with that. "Then I can run to the shop that must be on board to get you something for your seasick problem." There was no question about whether that worked for him because Juliet wasn’t giving him that option. Making sure Gus was okay had to be the first problem dealt with before finding Shawn, Martha, and the others.

“Ginger ale,” Gus said. That and water would help some. “There are seasick patches that work pretty well. I hope they have them on board.” If not, he was in for quite a miserable experience. He did appreciate Juliet being willing to take care of him. Shawn probably would have somehow made it worse. Of course, waking up with his doctor girlfriend would have been useful.
Part of him wanted to protest that they should reach out sooner rather than later, especially because he could imagine how Shawn was going to react to this whole thing. Then again, he would like to be feeling more stable before dealing with this best friend.
*
Nodding, Juliet moved over to the phone and placed an order for water and ginger ale. Thanking the person on the other end before hanging up. "Those drinks should be here in a few moments," she told him with a small smile. Juliet moved over the dresser to pull some pants on, deciding to change her shirt in a bit, but she wanted to get some pants over her underwear.
"I couldn’t remember if they were patches or pills so that’s helpful. I’m sure they have them probably in the store that most likely is on board. For people who forget things, and will have some of that for anyone who has to learn the hard way that they don’t handle water or forgot to pack it." Juliet, wanting to confirm what she thought, went over to what looked like a bunch of papers, finding a map of the ship with activities. "I found where they should be, and hopefully, they have them. But I’ll go check after I get you situated with your drinks." Juliet would not allow Gus to leave the room until he was a bit more stable. Once he was in the halls, there was no bathroom, and she felt him staying near one was the best move. Maybe she'd come across her husband while going to get Gus what he needed, and could talk Shawn down before he could do something ridiculous. It was a long shot, but one could hope. "Will laying down help a bit until the drinks come?"
*
Moving at all seemed like a bad idea, though Gus did carefully make his way to the bed, sitting on the edge as he took in slow, deep breaths. “No, because when I sit up again, it will make things worse,” he explained. “Thank you, Jules. I’m sorry you have to do this.”
Figures the dome would decide to send them on an unexpected trip that was a cruise. When the knock came at the door, he was grateful, hoping it was the drinks, though he would also be happy to see Shawn and/or Martha.
*
Juliet looked at him as if he had three heads when he said sorry, shaking her head at him. "You have nothing to be sorry about, Gus. Unless you’re pulling the dome puppet strings and thought it’d be great to put yourself on a cruise. You’re family, so you have nothing to be sorry about. But you’re welcome," she told him with a small smile. The only person or thing who should be saying sorry was the dome, for the fact that it kept throwing the two together.
She moved over to the door at the knock, opened it up and thanked the person before bringing in the drinks. She set the two drinks down on the table by the side so he could decide which one he felt like drinking first. "Is there anything else you need or want before I run to get you the patches?" Juliet wanted to make sure he was all good before leaving him for a few minutes. Though as she asked, she moved to grab a trash can just in case so he didn’t have to get up or in case he felt like he couldn’t get to the bathroom in time, setting it by him.
*
Gus reached for the water and took a careful sip, not wanting to drink too fast and upset his stomach worse. “No, I think the patches should be enough,” he said. “I hope.” If they weren’t, well… then he was in for a truly miserable week, or however long they were stuck here.
Figured the dome would do something that was ‘nice’ and it wouldn’t be so nice for him.
*
Juliet didn’t even think about how the patches might not work, and really hoped they did. Or she’d be feeling super bad for Gus and be trying to figure out another way for him to enjoy the cruise. Maybe someone with magic could do something, but they’d cross that bridge if the patches didn't do their job. "We’ll keep our fingers crossed on them being enough," Juliet told him as she slipped on some shoes then pulled her hair up into a ponytail since she’d take a shower when back after getting Gus all situated. "I’m only going to get your patches, so I should be back fairly quickly. Enjoy your drinks, and I’ll hurry back as fast as I can," she wasn’t sure if others would need to do the same thing. So in case she had to wait, she didn’t want Gus to think she got sidetracked or anything.
Not that she thought he would, since it was her. If she was Shawn, then the chances of getting sidetracked from the task were just a bit more likely. She opened the door and gave him one last look before vanishing to go get him the patches.

“Thanks, Jules,” Gus said again, sipping his ginger ale and wondering if death might be preferable. This had the potential to be a very long and miserable trip. As soon as he mustered up the energy, he was going to text Martha and find out where she was though.
