As much as Trixie had been hoping that school would be closed for the rest of the week because of the blizzard, she hadn’t had a bad day, though she was looking forward to getting home and convincing her mom or Lucifer to make her hot cocoa and maybe have a movie night. Without Mare would be her preference, but she knew that her mother wanted her to be nice.
She’d stayed after school a little for help with her math homework and since the days were so short, the sun was already setting as she made her way home. There were a lot of snowmen and other weird snow creatures in people’s yards. Some of them were actually a little creepy looking.
Despite having been in Madison Valley for coming up on two years, Trixie was not expecting one of the weird snow creatures to lunge at her as she turned a corner and she screamed, trying to remember the defensive moves that Mazikeen had been teach her.

Kenny was probably one of the very few in town who was enjoying all this extra snow. He loved winter, it reminded him of home, and he never minded the cold. So of course he was going to go outside as much as he could because he knew things would go back to normal after a week or so.
He was walking around, glancing every so often at those weird snow creatures. He could've sworn he saw a few of them move a few inches but when he looked, they were completely still. He was pretty sure he hadn't taken any drugs today, so maybe he was just imagining things.
But the scream he suddenly heard definitely wasn't in his imagination. He rushed towards the voice which sounded familiar and saw the girl who looked like Nona (what was her name? Tricia? No, that was Craig's sister's name) about to be attacked by a moving snow creature. Okay, maybe he didn't imagine things.
The snow creature grabbed the girl with it's stick arms, but not for long as Kenny bowled into it. Since it was made of snow, it crumpled easily. "You okay?" he asked the girl, pulling the stick arms that were still stuck on her jacket. He heard a noise and glanced up, seeing more snowmen and snow creatures coming towards them. "C'mon, we should move," he grabbed Trixie's sleeve and headed the other way.

Trixie screamed again when Kenny grabbed her sleeve and tugged her away, though she quickly realized that he wasn’t a danger, was helping her, and realized that she sort of knew him. At least she’d seen him on the network and knew he was another displaced person, not a townie.
“What is happening?” she asked, her heart beating fast when she realized there were other snow creatures heading in their direction.

Kenny kind of wondered if people would be surprised he was saving a kid, especially when most knew how much he hated them. Truthfully, though, he didn't hate them enough to let one just die when he could easily save them. He'd even save Cartman, though he probably didn't deserve it at all. But no, Kenny would save everyone if he could for some damn reason.
"I don't know, probably dome bullshit again," he told her as he kept walking, almost jogging, as the snow creatures were gaining speed on them. He suddenly felt something hit him in the back and when he turned, he saw all the snowmen and creatures were throwing snowballs at them.
"Fucking really?" he grumbled. This time, he headed into the nearest building - which happened to be a pharmacy - and once he and Trixie were inside, he closed the door.

As scary as all this was, Trixie was glad that she wasn’t alone. Sure, she would have preferred to be with her mom, Lucifer, or Maze, but she was glad that someone had rescued her and was willing to keep her safe for the time being. She had a feeling her mom was going to be keeping her on a short leash for a while after this though.
“What are we going to do?” she asked once they were safely inside the pharmacy. They couldn’t stay here forever.
***
Kenny had blocked the entrance with a few shelves that were near the door, but she was right, they couldn't stay there forever. Sooner or later, the snowcreatures would find a way to get inside and then attack them. Maybe worse. While Kenny was okay with getting killed, he didn't want Trixie to. Unlike him, there was no coming back for her.
Usually, he didn't really plan shit out. He was more the wing it type of person. But he was good at strategizing when he needed to be. Being good at strategy was the reason he was picked by the angels to help them against their battle against the demons after all.
"Well, the important thing is to get you home safely. Where do you live?" he asked. Hopefully someplace close by, but he'd still try to get her home even if he had to go to the other side of town.

“On Main Street,” Trixie said. Luckily, it wasn’t far from their current location, only a few blocks. “But it sounds like there are a lot of those things out there.” She could hear them shuffling past the store, presumably looking for people to attack.
She looked up at him, the concern obvious in her expression. “Maybe we should call Lucifer.”

"That's not far," Kenny said as he walked, obviously looking for something amongst the shelves. He turned left into one of the aisles and grabbed a can of hairspray. He pulled out his lighter and lit it before spraying the hairspray through the flame and causing it to grow bigger. He basically now got a cheap, easy to make flamethrower.
But would it be enough? It might keep them at bay, but she was right. There were a ton of them and he wasn't sure if his diy flamethrower would be enough. Lucifer, on the other hand, could probably melt them all at once and take Trixie to her mom more quickly than he could.
"Maybe," he said, but before either of them could do or say anything else, he heard a crash and looked over the shelves. He saw the snowcreatures and finally broke the window and were trying to get inside. "Maybe not. Let's go," he told her, grabbing a couple more hairspray cans just in case and led her out the back door as the snowcreatures noticed them leave.

Trixie watched his makeshift weapon with interest. “Wait, get me a lighter too. I want to fight them.” Her mother would have a fit, but she was a fierce little girl who didn’t want to be dependent on others to keep her safe even though she was grateful for Kenny’s help.
It was possible the snowcreatures couldn’t actually do them harm since they were, you know, made of snow, but she didn’t want to take any chances.

Her mother and other adults definitely wouldn't approve of letting a kid mess around with fire, but Kenny wasn't like most other adults. In fact, when he was younger, he and the other kids were always a lot more competent than the adults who were absolute dumbasses. But that could just be in South Park.
So he didn't hesitate giving Trixie the extra lighter he carried and a can of hairspray. "Here you go. Just don't do anything stupid like burn yourself," he told her, although he didn't really worry about that. He didn't know her exact age, but he was sure she was old enough to know touching fire hurt.
He led the way through the alley, which luckily, he knew them and where they led. Most of the snowcreatures were on the streets, though there were a couple they encountered in the alley, which he took care of with his makeshift flamethrower. After finishing off one more, he turned and now peeked out onto the street.
"Okay, that's Main Street over there. Which house is yours?"
***
It took Trixie a few tries to light the lighter, but once she figured out how exactly to press on the little wheel, she got the hang of the makeshift flamethrower pretty easily and, rather gleefully, took out some of the snowcreatures that attacked her and Kenny as they made their way the few blocks to her house.
“That one,” she said, relieved that they made it. “You want to come in? Until it’s safer?”
***
"Okay," Kenny nodded as he glanced at the house she pointed at.
He was about to head to her house but stopped when he saw a few snowcreatures in between them and their destination. A bit annoying, but they just had to deal with them, then Trixie would be safe in her own house. "Alright, we're going to make a break for it. Run as fast as you can and if you need to torch them, do it," he instructed.
He counted to three and the two of them took off, melting the snowcreatures that were in their way, and finally making it to the front door of Trixie's house. "Cool, we're here," he said and turned to the little girl. "No thanks. I should probably get back to my cats. They're home alone." Besides, he'd done all he needed to do, which was get Trixie somewhere safe.
"Anyways, go inside. I'll see you later." And once she had gone in, he walked off to head to his own home.
