WHO: Isobel and Bo WHERE: The Den WHEN: Tonight WARNINGS: heavy flirting SPOILERS? Nope! STATUS: complete
Having been in town a few months now, Isobel was becoming more familiar with the town and its people each day. While people did come and go on occasion, most of those Isobel had come in contact with, including her brother and others from home, had, thankfully, remained in Madison Valley. While Max and a few of the others had been sent home for a time, they returned, much to Isobel’s relief, and after adding the 80’s plot craziness (of which she was still related to Max thank God) in, Isobel was looking forward to a little down time. Of course, it wouldn’t be all surprising if she did not receive any relaxation time, but for the moment, it seemed Madison Valley was giving her a chance to just do what she wanted to do.
With determination and excitement, Isobel decided to take whatever free moments the town gave her and explore a place she had yet to go: The Den. Obviously, strip clubs had never been in her thing even before she was married, but with a new viewpoint on life thanks to an impromptu trip home, Isobel was feeling more confident and daring than before. Dressed in a lightweight, summery dress that clinged in all the right places to her tall frame, she stepped inside, doing her best to seem as little out of place as possible. After all, she had pretended for how many years? It wasn’t hard to step right back into that role, especially after enjoying a few drinks.
She made her way to the bar, ordering herself a cocktail from the menu, and settled into one of the empty seats, gaze shifting over to the many stages situated around the building. Isobel was definitely curious and far more open than she had been prior to Noah’s death and “the lentil.” That thought in particular still disturbed her as she had almost died trying to terminate her unplanned pregnancy with Noah’s alien spawn.
Her drink arrived and Isobel took a long sip in a desperate attempt to push those thoughts far away. Noah was the last thing she wanted to think about tonight.
Working at a strip club was a nice, easy source of energy for Bo. The place was always charged up with sexual energy and she could feed without feeling like she was taking it from anyone in particular. There were a decent number of people she was sleeping with on a casual basis, so she wasn’t desperate for sustenance. Unfortunately, the majority of those people were men and she was missing Lauren more and more every day. Kate was cool and a lot of fun, but definitely not her girlfriend.
When she spotted the blonde sitting alone in the club, she was immediately curious. Despite the male dancers they featured, the clientele still tended more towards males and it was unusual to see a woman here alone. Things weren’t too busy, so Bo figured she could indulge her curiosity and made her way over to the woman, hoping that her black “security” t-shirt wouldn’t be too off-putting.
“Hey,” she said, sitting down next to her. “Having a good time?”
Isobel hadn’t been expected to be approached by anyone, much less a woman and much less someone who was wearing a shirt that said “Security” on it. Isobel was sure she hadn’t done anything wrong unless it was just being a woman, alone, in a strip club. She supposed that was a sin in someone’s books. More than likely, this bouncer or whatever was just curious as to why she, a woman, was sitting here alone when the majority of clientele were of the male variety and the majority of dancers were women. It was a valid reasoning.
“Will you throw me out if I say no?” Isobel replied smoothly.
“Of course not,” Bo assured her with an easy smile. There was no need to break out the Succubus charm just yet. “In fact, if you’re not, I think I’d be obligated to try and fix that for you.” That wasn’t strictly true since she was not a dancer or a bartender.
The blonde woman was beautiful though and Bo wanted to know more about her. “I don’t think I’ve seen you here before. What brings in you tonight?” she asked.
Isobel arched a brow at her words. “I thought security was supposed to squash the fun or at least limit it,” she replied, taking a sip from her cocktail. She eyed the young woman over the edge of her glass, equally as curious as Bo was of her. The last person she expected to be speaking to was someone on the security team. Then again, Isobel wasn’t sure what to expect when she walked through that door tonight.
Isobel crossed her legs. “Call it curiosity.”
Bo glanced at the legs when she crossed them even as she chuckled. “Things around here aren’t normally what people expect, I imagine,” she said. “The boss hosts the occasional orgy, so....” She shrugged, letting the words trail off to see what sort of reaction she’d get. There was something about this woman that screamed classy and yet Bo could sense something else underneath that veneer.
“I’m Bo,” she said. “I like to have fun.”
Isobel had heard about the orgy, but had refrained from partaking...at least this time around. Her newfound strength and courage wouldn’t let her sit on the sidelines for long. She had spent too much of her life dodging the spotlight, avoiding making waves to keep herself safe, but she didn’t want to do that anymore. She wanted to take control, know her abilities, and know herself.
“I heard about it. I was thinking of coming to the next one. I mean if I liked what I saw about the place tonight. So far, it’s proving pretty nice.” Isobel didn’t hide the flicker of her gaze over Bo. She was beautiful, alluring, and Isobel was already enjoying herself far more than she’d predicted before coming in.
“Isobel,” Isobel introduced herself, offering a hand. “Well, then I guess it’s good I ran into since fun is kind of what I’m all about these days.”
That sounded encouraging and Bo grinned as she took Isobel’s hand. She didn’t drop it right away, funneling just a tiny amount of her succubus charm through the touch. “Well, you know, you don’t have to wait for the next one,” she said. “If you want to have some fun sooner, I mean.”
Bo wasn’t shy about propositioning people, especially not when they were so pretty. In some ways, Isobel reminded her of Lauren, though this woman seemed to be a bit more relaxed than her girlfriend. As much as she missed the doc, she knew that Lauren would understand she had needs. And it wasn’t like she was planning to fall in love with anyone else.
Isobel felt something from Bo’s touch; something channeled through her as if she was being affected by something similar to her own influencing abilities. She hadn’t felt anything quite like it since Noah. This woman had abilities. What they were, Isobel did not know, but she could sense it.
Isobel slipped her hand away slowly. “Are you offering?” Isobel wasn’t against it by any means, with or without the succubus charm going to work on her. It wasn’t exactly what she had expected when she came in, but she was hardly against it.
“Long as you don’t mind waiting a couple of hours til I’m off the clock,” Bo said. Of course, she could probably sneak off into one of the private rooms without anyone being the wiser, but on the off chance that something would happen to one of the dancers or bartenders while she was in there, she would feel way too guilty.
She moved her hand to Isobel’s thigh, giving it a gentle squeeze that promised a lot more.
“I suppose I could keep myself entertained till then. I’d like to think of myself as somewhat creative,” Isobel replied with a playful smirk. “The alcohol is decent enough too.” She was somewhat surprised at how forward the other woman was being, but not enough to pull away in the slightest. Perhaps the charm was having a bit more effect on her than she wanted to admit, but being that she was the wiser too it, did not turn her off to the idea of being around Bo at all.
“I think I can last a few hours till then.” She placed her hand over Bo’s giving the fingers a gentle squeeze.
Bo definitely hadn’t expected to pick up a patron tonight when she came into work, but she certainly wasn’t going to argue about it either. “Great,” she said. “Tell whoever’s at the bar that your drinks go on my tab. Just don’t get sloppy.” Not that it would really deter her from taking Isobel home, but she liked her partners capable of providing consent.
Reluctantly, she removed her hand from Isobel’s thigh and stood, though she leaned in to whisper in the other woman’s ear before she walked away. “I’m going to show you the best night of your life,” she said.
“I’ll keep it clean.” Isobel was mildly shocked that Bo offered to have her drinks put on her tab, but she wasn’t going to complain about it. “I appreciate it.”
Isobel felt a rush of heat upon her cheeks at the comment. “I look forward to experience. I hope it definitely qualifies as ‘out of this world’ for you.” Okay, Isobel couldn’t help it even if she knew Bo probably had no idea that the reference was actually quite accurate.
