When Penny asked to spend the night with her friend Trixie, Penelope figured she'd have a nice, quiet, relaxing Sunday morning. Her plan was to drink some coffee and catch up on the latest season of Real Housewives. Those plans went out the window when she woke up and discovered a small child sitting on her sofa.
"Um... hi..." she said, wondering who the kid was and why he was there.
The little boy beamed at her. "Hi Mommy! Where's Daddy? How come we're not in our house? Can I have pancakes?"
That was a lot to take in all at once and Penelope's eyes nearly bugged out of her head as she processed his words. Looking at him closer, especially that grin, she was nearly certain she knew who 'daddy' was and wow, did that hurt right now. It had been so long since the dome sent Derek home and she was over that loss, so this reminder was painful since she missed him.
Not to mention the implication that in some future, they were together. With a kid.
"Well, do you know about Madison Valley?" she asked. The idea that this kid was from their future at home was kind of scary.
He nodded. "UH HUH. Except we have a house. Is this the dome being weird?"
For a little guy, he was pretty astute and that was a relief. "Yeah, honey, the dome is being weird. Daddy isn't here. And I don't remember your name. Can you help me out?" At least she liked kids. This one might hurt a little, but she could handle it.
"I'm Spencer Morgan and I'm four!" he declared, confirming her assumptions. And of course they named their kid after Reid. That made sense.
Penelope smiled. "Okay, Spence, I'll make some pancakes." Before she could head to the kitchen, there was a knock on the door. "As soon as I see who that is," she said, going to open the door. It seemed too early to be Penny coming home.
