Who: Ruby Lucas & Open
What: Shopping
When: Friday afternoon
Where: Town & Country Florist
Warnings: None so far
Status: Open/Ongoing

The run of gorgeous days had Ruby wanting to bring the spring feel indoors, so she took the afternoon off of work to head out and do some shopping. She had already picked up some new decorations for her room at the pack house, and her office. Along with some brighter calendars and such to hand out to her coworkers.

Her last stop of the day was to the florist shop. Fresh cut flowers and some small plants would make things much better in the office, and it might perk up the waiting spaces. It was something that Ruby and her coworkers had to do, because if they waited for anyone else in the office to make things more comforting and welcoming, well, it would never happen.

She had already arranged for several small plants, and a few vase bouquets, to be delivered to the social services offices, and now she was just looking around for herself. It was more fun making up her own, rather than just picking out a pre-made one.

"Excuse me, could you hand me that bunch of sunflowers in that bucket there?" she asked the person blocking her way.

Clara had decided to run a few errands after getting through with work at the high school. There were a few things they needed from the grocery store, and Clara decided that some flowers would spruce up the Doctor's TARDIS quite nicely. She just hoped the Doctor wouldn't mind too terribly much. She didn't think she would, but seeing as Clara didn't know this Doctor well...

But she was still going to get the flowers anyway. She thought that the rest of the occupants of the TARDIS would be appreciative.

She looked over when she heard a woman's voice speaking, and she offered the woman a small, apologetic smile. "Of course," she told her, reaching for the bunch of sunflowers to hand the woman. "I'm feeling a little... oblivious at the moment, I guess."

Ruby smiled in understanding, looking around. "It's not hard in here. There are a lot of options."

She picked up the sunflowers, and added them to the basket hanging from her arm.

"I find it's best to go with a theme when picking things out. Today, it's yellow. So sunflowers, daffodils, yellow mums, that sort of thing." It narrowed down which flowers she could use, and left her with just matching up what worked together.

She offered Ruby a small smile, "There really are a lot of options," she agreed. "And a yellow theme sounds like a good idea. I love yellow flowers, they always seem to brighten a place up."

She eyed the selection of flowers for a moment, considering. "I want something that goes with blue," she decided. "Where I live... it's all blue on the outside. So I think I want something that would bring that color -- or similar colors -- inside. Because it's such a pretty color."

Maybe she was just being silly, but it's what she wanted.

It took a moment of Ruby thinking and pulling it up on her phone, trying to remember that color wheel stuff from the therapy painting course she'd done for work.

"I believe it's orange that goes well with blue," she said, looking at the page she pulled up. "Yeah, oranges and bright yellows."

There was a bucket of birds of paradise nearby, and pointed them out. "There you go. Pick up a few of them, and then just add flowers that go with them."

"Orange, huh?" She hadn't considered using orange to match the blue of the TARDIS, but now that she thought about it, it made sense. And she rather liked the color orange, she thought it would brighten up the place considerably.

She looked over at the birds of paradise, and her eyes widened slightly. "Oh, I do like those..." She went over to the bucket, and selected a few of the flowers. "It's got some blue and orange. I could match the shades of those with different ones..."

She was starting to get into this a bit more. Now she was glad she had decided to stop by the flower shop that afternoon.

"They are gorgeous flowers." Ruby would have to remember to get them for next time. She worked with the sunflowers to add them into her bouquet, and notices some lilies farther back.

"Those tiger lilies would work great with it, and then you could find some blue hyacinths. I think those would work great for a base." She stopped and blinked a few times, realizing that she was sounding like her grandmother.

"Sorry if I seem pushy, I'm just used to having a lot of flowers around."
