He eyed her for a moment and then shrugged. "I'm not a mutant, if that's what you're asking." It was technically the truth, but even if it wasn't, Alec was a good liar and not above lying to keep safe. He had to take care of number one, after all. "Just a concerned citizen. Didn't know if I needed to kick some ass here or not. Might not be a mutant, but it doesn't mean I don't think treating them different is B.S." Though he did get that she was a mutant and the openness was intriguing. Maybe he could find it in him to trust her at some point. Maybe.
