Lorna Dane & Marcos Diaz
It was getting increasingly harder to spend holiday type situations with them. He felt a lot like a plus one instead of part of their family, though he was trying really hard to not take it out on Lorna. She had her process and this was going to take time. He'd known that going in so even though he was getting frustrated, he just needed to swallow it down and deal. Especially for Dawn's sake, because he and Lorna could agree that she deserved everything they hadn't been able to have.
Just like Lorna, Marcos kept an eye on Dawn while also scanning the crowd around them. His hands were loose at his sides, ready to act at a moment's notice to defend his daughter. While it wasn't likely to happen, he wouldn't take any chances with her safety. He never had to worry with Lorna, knew she'd protect their baby girl with her life if need be, but Marcos would protect them both. He'd do what he needed to if and when the time came. For now, what she needed was for him to let go of his anger and frustration so that he could enjoy the afternoon properly.
"She's taking it all in. This time next year, she'll be all over it," he commented lightly. It was clear something was bothering him, but he hoped Lorna wouldn't ask. "Think we should risk taking her to see Santa?" It seemed like it was one of the things to do.
