Castiel wanted to see Balthazar again. He had enjoyed the time they had spent together on Thanksgiving. He knew he'd likely make things awkward, but he also knew Balthazar understood that about him. He had texted his friend about fifteen minutes prior to his arrival, and entered the angel's apartment, bags of Chinese takeout in his hands.
"I'm here," he said, stating the obvious. "I have food. I know we don't need to eat but… this is what I do. I feed people." He went into the kitchen, setting the food on the table.
He leaned against the counter, his eyes closing for a moment. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything…"
--
He watched the angel enter with a vague sense of amusement. Castiel always seemed to be apologizing for things that Balthazar didn’t see a big deal over. Of course they didn’t need to eat, but it was fun to indulge - Balthazar loved indulging. When Castiel leaned against the counter, he smirked just a little. “Well, I was planning on trying to overthrow the local government here, but now that you’ve brought me chicken fried rice and egg rolls, I think I’ll just settle for a night in instead.”
Balthazar watched Castiel quietly. “Rough day, or do you always make dinner so dramatic?”
--
"Are you calling me dramatic?" he asked, with a small smile. "It's just… been a long day." His eyes opened, and his gaze fell on Balthazar. At the sight of his friend, a small smile played along his lips. He reached toward the angel, his fingers brushing lightly over his arm.
He started unloading the bags of food, and handed Balthazar a container of chicken fried rice. "You're lucky that's exactly what I got for you." He then rummaged through the bags, and extracted the egg rolls. He took a bite of one, "But you're going to have to convince me to share these."
He studied the angel for a moment. "I'm sorry. I feed people I care about. You fall into that category. Even though I'm not completely sure where I stand with you. I still care about you."
--
"If you don't share your eggrolls, I'm going to take it as a personal affront." He was kidding, of course, but he did want an eggroll. There was no point in indulging in Chinese food if you didn't overload yourself with all the terrible goodness and regretted it later - that was a Chinese tradition.
He didn't move away from Castiel's touch, enjoying the contact. "Stand with me?" He paused. "Because of Thanksgiving?" That was an issues he hadn't quite considered.
--
He smiled at the angel's words. "I suppose I can share the egg rolls. I mean, I brought enough for the both of us." He took another bite of the egg roll before putting it down.
He noticed that Balthazar didn't move away when he touched him, and he smiled a bit at this. "I do not regret Thanksgiving. I enjoyed it, and I'd like to do it again." He moved closer to Balthazar. "You're my closest friend. I just… don't want to lose that. I'm not going to lose that because we're having sex, right?" He was now close enough to kiss his friend, and that's exactly what he did. "I don't want to lose you again."
--
There was a familiarity there, and ache to be close to Cas, that filled his chest when Castiel closed the distance and kissed him. He didn't want to lose Cas again, either. Part of Balthazar felt responsible for what had happened. If he hadn't let the Winchesters' cloud his judgement, maybe the stabbing would have never occured.
He kissed back, his hands coming to rest in either shoulder of the other angel as Balthazar looked at him. "Why would you lose me if we kept having sex? Sex with you is great. I wouldn't change that."
--
Castiel's gaze met the other angel's after the kiss ended. "I honestly don't know," he said. "I know sex sometimes ruins things. I wanted to make sure it wouldn't is all." He kissed Balthazar once more, deepening it slightly.
"I'm awkward with things. You of all people should know that. And I do enjoy sex with you. A lot. I want to keep doing it." He offered the angel a small smile. "And I like kissing you, too."
--
"Has it ruined things in the past with you personally?" He wondered if the worry was coming from experience or Castiel over-thinking things based on what he observed. He knew sex with the Winchesters was always complicated so he wondered if the angel was thinking about that.
"Your awkwardness is what makes you Cas." He wasn't going to lie that Cas wasn't awkward - he was - but it was also what stood the angel out.
Balthazar let his hand smooth over Castiel's hair affectionately, mussing it a little as he did so. "You know me, Cas. I'm an open book. You tell me what you want from this and you got it. No strings attached or hidden motivations."
--
“I know you are,” he said softly. “I just don’t know what you want from this is all.” He made a soft sound as Balthazar messed with his hair. He did like the touches from the other angel. He liked the kissing, he liked the sex. He liked a lot of things having to do with the angel. He studied Balthazar for a moment, his head tilting slightly.
“You know you’re my closest friend, Balthazar. The one I’ve known the longest. I care about you, quite a bit.” He sighed softly at this. “I want to be with you,” he said, softly. “Only you. If you want to have sex with other people… that’s okay. But I don’t want to do so with anyone else but you.”
He knew that Balthazar might not be agreeable to this, he knew it was a lot to ask. But it was what he wanted. And Balthazar had asked him what he had wanted.
--
There was a pause at sudden realization. Castiel was asking him to date, wasn't he? He supposed the word would be 'steady' if they were normal humans. It was, it realized, kind of adorable and, in truth, the words sent a rush of unfamiliar warmth again. The idea Castiel might want to be exclusive was sort of amazing.
He blinked and looked at Cas. "You want me to be yours, then I'm yours, Castiel." That was something he had wanted to say for a long time,. actually. "You and me… we go back. I think it means something. And you already know I'd Iliterally change history to help you succeed." Even if it bit them in the butt.
--
“I do want you to be mine, yes. I don’t want to have to share you with anyone else. I mean, I would, if that’s what you wanted, but… I don’t want that.” He leaned in and kissed Balthazar softly, when he realized the angel had agreed to what he was asking. Castiel ran his fingers through the other’s hair as he kissed him. “You’re serious?” he asked, before kissing him once more.
He had no doubt that Balthazar was serious in his agreement. Balthazar wasn’t like that, not one to agree to something he didn’t want.
His fingers ran down his friend’s arm, and he squeezed the angel’s hand once he reached it. “I’m just sorry it took so long for us to get to this point.”
--
He laughed softly between the kisses. "You say it like I've got people lined out the door " While it was true Balthazar could indulge, it was nothing serious most of the time. Sex was a fun past time. With Cas, things were a little different. He squeezed the angel's hand reassuringly. "You were a bit busy trying to save the world" Over and over again, it seemed. "Here you can just be awkward, adorable Cas, and you can let me pamper you." He winked. "You put everything on your shoulders. I can lift some of them."
--
“I don’t have to save the world here,” he said, smiling slightly. “Things are a bit…. calm here.” He nodded a bit at this, then kissed Balthazar’s cheek. “You may have people lined out the door, I don’t know these things.” And with that, he kissed him once more. “You think I’m awkward and adorable?” he asked, with a slight smile. “I do like the sound of that.”
He nuzzled against Balthazar for a moment, “Your Chinese food is getting cold.” Because that’s what was important, right? Something like that.
--
He hummed softly, letting his hands run down the angel's face to his shoulders. The thought of Chinese food secondary at the moment. He looked at Castiel straight on, voice low. "How about I take you to bed instead. Show you just how adorable and awkward I think you are. Then we can reheat the food and indulge in that after yours satisfied that I'm yours and you are mine. Hm?"
--
Castiel took a moment before responding, as though he were considering Balthazar’s offer. He smiled slightly at the angel, and leaned in to kiss him softly, slowly. “I like that idea very, very much,” he informed Balthazar, taking the angel’s hand within his. “Maybe we can actually make it to the bed this time. Not that I’m complaining about the floor…” Or any other surface, really. He tugged Balthazar closer, and nuzzled lightly against him.
--
His bed was very comfortable. So comfortable it took the two angel's several hours to truly appreciate it and when they were done, Balthazar strolled back out of the room with no clothes on. He made two plates of chinesey food and reheated them quickly before returning to Castiel in bed with an abundance of comfort food.
"See? It's like you just brought it all." He plucked up an eggroll and took a bite, making it a little more suggestive than he probably had to, but he couldn't help it. He smiled at Castiel, suddenly very content with his lot in life.
--
Castiel watched appreciatively as Balthazar left the room. Then again when the angel returned. He sat up in bed when the food was brought into the room, leaning against the headboard. He hadn't moved since Balthazar had left to get the food, so he was still naked himself.
He leaned over and kissed him softly before taking an egg roll off the plate. "You know, you made me feel a lot of things earlier, but adorable was not one of them." He smirked a bit at this, before taking a bite of the egg roll.
--
"Are you saying I should try harder?" He lifted his eyebrows playfully. "Perhaps throw in a coochie choo here and there?" A smile spread across his lips as he took another bite of the eggroll. He enjoyed the banter between him and Castiel. "I'll admit it's sometimes hard to focus with you under or on top of me. Perhaps we should list out our goals next time."
--
“Yes. You should definitely try harder,” he said, grinning. “Though I’m not exactly sure I want to feel adorable when we’re doing… that.” He took another bite of his egg roll, and leaned back against the headboard once more. “I find it hard to focus on anything but you. Even when we’re not having sex.” This much was true. Whenever he was around Balthazar, all he could focus on was Balthazar. “I don’t eat much. But I enjoy eating in bed with you.” He enjoyed a lot of things with him, really.
--
"I never thought you were a romantic, Castiel." He smirked. "Looks good on you." He meant it though as he let his free hand run along Castiel's abdomen. He liked how the other angel's body felt against his.
"I'll have to expand your palate. There's some very fun foods we could try. Sushi is great right off the body, for example." He leaned forward and placed the small piece of eggroll left on Castiel's navel and then licked it up in one bite. It wasn't quite the same as sushi, but he thought it would get his point across.
--
He made a small sound at the feeling of Balthazar’s tongue on his stomach. He did rather enjoy the feeling that came from this action, and his eyes closed momentarily as he let the sensations wash over him. “Oh, you have no idea how romantic I can be,” he said, with a slight smile. “You’re in for some new knowledge about me.” He leaned in and kissed the angel once more, his fingers running through his hair as he did so.
“You’re just going to have to get used to it, too.”
--
Somehow the whole thing sounded like a challenge and Balthazar was definitely okay with that. He sent Castiel a small eyebrow raise as if to say 'oh really?' but there was amusement there too. "I'm excited to see what's in store, then." The sudden picture of Castiel standing there with roses and singing to him crossed his mind - it was an amusing thought.
He settled in beside the angel, snuggling just a little. "I've decided that Madison Valley has a lot going for it now."
--
"You're going to have to wait and see what's in store, though. It's only fair." He wrapped an arm around Balthazar's shoulders, bringing him closer. He kissed his temple before stealing the angel's egg roll and taking a bite.
"Oh have you now?" he asked, smirking. "I suppose it does, doesn't it? I mean. It has you…"
--
"Being alive is a good point in its favour." Yes, he'd still bring that up, though there wasn't any bite to it anymore. "But there are other things, too. Like you and the fact that the Starbucks here is relatively competent."
He let his finger trail idly over Castiel's chest. "it's nice not to have to worry about stuff like we did back home, too."
--
"Oh I'm up there with Starbucks, am I?" He offered Balthazar a small smile. "I don't think Starbucks has quite the same skill set as me, though." He trailed a finger along the angel's chest and stomach, stopping once the finger got past the belly button.
"Though I enjoy attempting to wear you out over giving you energy…" He had a feeling that they were going to get little rest tonight.
--
He hummed happily at the other angel's touch - definitely better skill set than Starbucks. "You want to wear me out, do you? Think you'll have me under your spell better that way, hm?" It was all playful. He didn't mind if Castiel ran him ragged - it sounded like that would be fun. "I like this version of you. I like it when you're in control of what you want."
--
"As opposed to what?" he asked, kissing along the angel's jaw. He nipped at the skin just under his ear, then paused. "The Winchesters," he stated simply. "I'm not sure you noticed, but I chose to spend Thanksgiving with you. Not Dean. Or Adam." He kissed the tip of Balthazar's nose.
--
He smiled a little at Castiel’s words. “No. And I appreciate it.” He and Dean did not get along at all - it seemed the man still held a grudge. He hadn’t approached Adam at all since he was here, though the boy was on Balthazar’s radar.
“I like having you to myself, if I’m honest. You’re much more alluring when you have a singular focus.” In which this case was him.
--
“You just like it when I focus on you,” he said, grinning. He rested his head on Balthazar’s shoulder, sighing softly. “Not that I blame you. I like it when I focus on you as well. Good things happen when I do.” He smiled a bit, and trailed his hand along the man’s stomach. “You’re going to spoil me, you know. I mean, I’m not complaining…” Quite the opposite really. If anyone was going to spoil him, he was glad that it was Balthazar.
--
“Oh, I am definitely going to spoil you.” If they were going to do this, Balthazar decided to demonstrate just how invaluable an angel he was to Castiel. The idea of ‘ruining’ him for everyone else was also on the table. Balthazar could be greedy when he wanted to be, after all.
“Tell me, Cas. Right now, what is it you’d like from me? Anything and it’s yours.”
--
Castiel considered Balthazar’s question for a moment. He knew that Balthazar was quite serious about his offer, and Cas didn’t take the offer lightly. He kissed the angel softly, nipping lightly at his lower lip as he pulled away. “I just… right now? I just want you. Only you.” He kissed along Balthazar’s jaw, stopping just under his ear. “The idea that you want to spoil me makes me very happy.” This whole relationship with Balthazar was new to Castiel. Yes, he’d been in a relationship with Blake, but that was different. Balthazar was different. “I want you to be happy,” he decided. “What can I do to make you happy?”
--
Balthazar paused for just a moment and magically sent away the Chinese food back to the kitchen - it would only prove to get in the way at the moment. He then shifted a little to the side so he could blook at Castiel. This whole thing was new, of course. Perhaps even more new for Balthazar than for Cas, which was something Balthazar wasn't about to dwell on.
"If you're happy, I'm happy." He lifted his hand. "Which I know is incredibly cliche and I hate cliches so I'll only use that phrase once, but it's true." Seriously, he hated cliches. "But you, me, here, a night of restlessness" he waggled his eyebrows at Castiel. "Those things sound great right about now. And we can continue to do so until you're sick of me."
--
He arched an eyebrow at Balthazar’s actions, then smirked slightly. He had an idea as to why the Chinese food was sent away, and he was definitely not opposed to that idea. Quite the opposite, really. He kissed Balthazar softly, enjoying the fact that he could kiss him.
“I am happy,” he told Balthazar. “I didn’t expect this outcome, truthfully.” There was then a slight smile from Castiel, “That sounds like an excellent idea. But I will not be getting sick of you. So we’re going to be doing this for a while.”
--
“Mmm hmm.” He wasn’t entirely convinced - Balthazar felt competitive enough that he’d outdo Castiel in the long run. He wanted the angel to be exhausted because of him and that competitiveness suddenly ran deep. “I have all the time in the world, Cas.” He leaned forward and mouthed Castiel deeply, her tongue exploring hot and heavy. He was going to show Cas just how happy he really was.
