Brooke had skipped out on most things Thanksgiving, keeping it from Chidi since she didn’t want to ruin whatever he had planned with Eleanor. Normally, she’d be getting ready for a huge party where her dad would expect her to be all smiles for the people who were invited. While also dealing with Jake who’d either be flirting with her or trying to piss her off, which it depended on if he felt like being a giant ass or not. Only none of that would be happening even if she was back in her world. Jake was dead. Only good thing about that was she could use it to be with her friend’s for the holiday. Knowing the Lakewood group, they’d probably end up doing something fun for the day, but none of them were here. Then knowing Tahani was gone sucked considering she had been getting along great with the woman. All she wanted to do today was blast some music, do some grief shopping, and not think about anything.
Not only all that she couldn’t even do online shopping because of the stupid dome. Instead, she actually had to brave the stores for some deals, dealing with the idiots who took the deals a bit too far. Did people really need to stomp and kick over a TV? Brooke enjoyed getting some of her holiday shopping out of the way, especially with deals only she was stuck with the stores in this place. While she did a bit of shopping on Thanksgiving day, she decided to wait until Friday before doing a bigger look at the stores, hoping it would be less likely she ended up getting hurt. Oh how wrong she was!
After about half the day shopping, Brooke finally threw in the towel and stopped at Starbucks. Ordering herself a coffee, she went to sit with about seven bags of stuff from various stores. Setting them on the floor near the window so no one tried anything funny since it was a bit harder to take them when they were on her side away from where people walked. Rolling up her shirt only a bit, Brooke pouted only slightly at the bruise already starting to form in her stomach area from where some bitch actually elbowed her even though she claimed it was an accident. Elbows shouldn’t have been being thrown! Pulling her shirt back down and sitting up straight, she pulled out her phone from her purse to delete names off her gift list she had made on her phone, taking a sip of her coffee as she looked over the list.
