Drabble night drabbles Title: Three drabbles from the drabble night Author:sitruunavohveli Rating: PG-ish
Notes: Wow! That's a lot of tags.
*hem hem* I’m a bit late (again) so these have not been beta-read, but feel free to point out any errors. Hope you can still enjoy them! ellid ‘s prompt for February Kisses was “A kiss for luck” and whitestar hoped for Muggle candy hearts that say "Kiss Me”. I’ve used both prompts here.
I think it’s still February in US at least even if it is already March in here. Sorry everybody for being late! (I hope lore will forgive me.)
One step
How long had it been? It felt more like centuries than years. There had been only a step or two between them. He had always wondered how things would have changed if one of them had taken that one step forward.
How history of the Wizarding world would have changed.
It was unnecessary to even think about it now, really, but Severus couldn’t help wondering. Sometimes he even hoped he could get another chance to take that one step but at the same time wasn’t sure that he would take it this time either.
Maybe he should just leave home before he did something stupid and humiliated himself in front of Harry Potter and everyone else.
Severus was just going to leave when Remus noticed him from the other side of the room. For a moment he looked alarmed but then excused himself from the group he was talking to and started to walk towards Severus.
Maybe they would have another chance to take that step after all.

A kiss for luck
Severus wasn’t kissed too often. However, there were some kisses he could still remember after all the years.
His mother kissing him on platform 9 ¾ before he left to Hogwarts for the first time. It had been a bittersweet kiss. Lily giving him a kiss on his cheek before a difficult exam when they were 14. Severus had been too surprised to even comment on the act before they already had to go into the classroom.
Remus taking his breath away only hours before the battle of Hogwarts began. He said something about hope and surviving and future. Back then Severus hadn’t believed in any of them.
The best kisses of his life always seemed to be for luck. It was very lucky indeed that some of the lucky charms had worked better than others.

Muggle candy hearts that say "Kiss Me"
“I really don’t understand the tradition of Valentine’s Day,” Severus said in the middle of a breakfast. It was the morning of February 14th.
“Umm...” Remus said and hoped that Severus did not notice the sudden flush on his cheeks.
“I mean,” Severus continued “it’s just one day among the others. Why do people make such a big deal out of it?”
“Beats me. Look, Severus, I really have to leave for work now,” Remus said and rose from the table suddenly.
“What are you talking about? You never leave for work this early.” “No, I really...” “What is this really about, Remus?” Severus said and frowned.
Remus bit his lip.
“I got you something for Valentine’s Day,” Remus answered sheepishly and took a small package from under the table. Severus did not say anything. “But if you think it’s that stupid...”
“What is it?” Severus asked and took the box from Remus.
“Nothing much.”
Inside the box there were small candy hearts with “kiss me” written on them.
“I know you think they’re foolish but...”
“Come here, Remus.”
“What?”
“I said come here!” Severus repeated with some impatience in his voice.
When Remus was next to him, Severus pulled him down and kissed him.
“What was that for?”
“Just did as I was told to do,” Severus shrugged. “It is Valentine’s Day after all.”
