Remus hurled the note it into the fire. It was his third draft, and it still did not provide a reasonable argument for him skipping the dance.

The dance where his former lover would be having his first date. With someone his own age. Who actually wasn't his own age because the real Severus, the one who asked about gay life in the 1970s -

Remus groaned. What now?

Aww, this series is wonderful, ellid! I love the inner-conflict for Remus, and the hints of adult Snape that sneak into his dialogue. Nice.

Oh, poor Remus. There's so much history lurking behind this deceptively simple scenario, and you are so good at revealing quick shadows of those images.
