"A Halloween dance for the first years, Headmistress?" Remus pulled his son back as Teddy grabbed at a floating pumpkin.

"Madam Prince suggested it. She believes her grandson will benefit from the early exposure to the opposite sex." Minerva's lips thinned. "Some nonsense about his orientation being due to nurture, not nature."

"Oh." Teddy was beginning to fret. "Does Severus know this?"

Severus and a group of his fellow Ravenclaws paused to read the announcement of the dance. He looked pleased, then turned to another boy and asked if Smithers would be his date.

Minerva winced. "It would seem not."
