One kiss led to a second, and to a third. The night was cold as the meteor shower flashed about them, clean and white and brilliant enough that it was almost possible to imagine one's self by the sea, not in a golden tower. Those in the courtyard below might have heard the occasional gasp or cry if they listened closely.

Eventually the cries faded. Someone whispered your place or mine?, and someone replied thought you'd never ask. Two figures embraced, then disappeared down the stairs to the dungeons.

It was time to take a chance on more than kisses.
