Snape threw down his pen as the sharp, arrhythmic pounding began from the direction of Lupin's quarters. The jazz had been bad enough, but at least it hadn't been loud.

"Lupin! Turn that off!" Snape banged on Lupin's door. He had to shout over the swelling brass and what sounded very much like a snare drum. "I said turn that off!"

The music cut off abruptly. Lupin, face covered in foam (except for that dreadful moustache), opened the door. "Severus? What's wrong?"

"Next year's budget is due to Minerva tomorrow. I need quiet," Severus hissed.

Lupin flushed. "Sorry," he said.
