"It's been six months, Remus." She reached up to caress his cheek. "Snape still hasn't managed to reformulate the potion. Without it, Frank will never - " Tears began to spill down her cheeks. "I'm so lonely."

"So am I." Lupin gently wiped the tears away. "But if anyone can save Frank, it's Severus. We need to give him more time."

She managed a smile and a nod. "You're right, of course. Thank you for reminding me of that."

Snape quietly turned away from the doorway. Who knew Lupin could be so noble?
