The silence had to be a good omen. Andromeda checked her sleeping grandson for the second (or third, or fourth) time. She had known almost from the beginning that her daughter was not first in Remus Lupin's heart, but as long as Dora was alive it was not her place to speak up.

A flash of movement outside caught her eye. She stepped to the window in time to see Severus, young and desperate, grab her son-in-law and kiss him, hard. They remained touching even after Remus pulled his mouth away.

Andromeda pressed her fingers to the glass. Now what?
