I'm Okay So Long As I'm With You (Anna)
Once he'd spoken with Jo, Cas had quietly excused himself from the diner to reach into his pocket and find his cigarettes. Those were thankfully still present...and though it occurred to him that it might be socially acceptable to smoke indoors during the current time period, he had no intention of harming anyone else. He knew what they were doing to his vessel and yet despite the fact, he was unable to bring himself to stop. Leaning back against the front of the diner, he lit one and exhaled heavily. It wasn't the place that bothered him. Or the setting. He greatly disliked that all of their possessions had been misplaced, but then objects meant very little to him in the great equation.
It was more than he had a very unpleasant sense of unease and there was no viable explanation for it. It felt as if he were standing near a very powerful demon. Or angel. It could simply have been his human anxiety and he wrote it off as such, not wanting to alert anyone to his feelings if he were imagining it. He trusted his abilities, but only when they pertained to himself. Endangering others was never an option.
Still...he definitely wished to find something to fight. Striking something, no matter how inelegant or primitive it seemed, helped cure the anger. And anger was an emotion he struggled with often. Thinking of finding a place to stay only occurred to him second, and that was when he turned towards the window to look for Anna. She was busy, likely making certain everyone was all right. That was fine - she was better suited to speaking with others. And while he supposed he could seek out Piotr or Phaedra, he imagined they both would also be just fine. They were more than capable of taking care of themselves.
...So that left finding a place to stay. What money they had, he didn't know. But somehow he doubted he and Anna would have enough to scrape together in order to rent a room. It was not unusual, but without their car to sleep in...this would require a certain level of creativity.
