Entry tags:!incomplete, dorcas meadowes, kira fenwick, remus lupin, sirius black

Characters: Kira, Dorcas, Remus, Sirius, and soon open to all attending Narcissa's birthday!!!
Setting: BACKDATED | Friday, October 29th | 8:45 P.M. | The hourglasses, proceeds to the stairs leading to the dungeon, and then the Slytherin common room!
Content: NSFW | likely to be issues with Slytherins!
Summary: Dorcas is going to crash Narcissa's birthday party to determine once and for all whether or not she is a true friend.
Status: Incomplete

Kira was beyond riled up over the recent discovery her mate Dorcas wasn't invited to Narcissa's self-hosted birthday bash. Though she had little desire to help her mate kindle this risky friendship, Kira was willing to bet her right hand Narcissa had intentionally left Dorcas off the guest list. If that was the case, Dorcas had every right to know why. Kira wouldn't have been able to live with herself had she known about this all along and not warned Dorcas of the entire thing, particularly after her mate had opened up to her about concerns regarding the friendship with the Slytherin girl.

Deciding her best bet was to proposition reinforcements, Kira exchanged some friendly words with Sirius to make sure he was on board. Of course, that was hardly necessary considering he tended to jump at any occasion to make Slytherins uncomfortable. Still she figured she owed it to him considering it was his birthday weekend. Remus was much easier to persuade, possibly because he fancied Dorcas but maybe slightly owing to his own friendship with Kira. Either way, she had everyone she needed on her side. All that remained was getting into the snake pit.

Although Kira had planned on wearing her Ravenclaw robes to further the divide between her and the Slytherins, she decided to settle with a loose dress and some beige sandals. Such was her typical weekend attire when the girl actually put forth the effort, and this evening she had no intention of being the cause of further embarrassment on Dorcas' behalf. Though Kira was certain there was no pleasing a Slytherin, because said students were already far too pleased with themselves to take anyone else into consideration, she figured it probably wouldn't kill her to show her mate she cared enough to look the part. That would make this little plan of theirs seem less like a crashing, more like inviting themselves along for the ride. Anyone with half a brain would probably figure it out, though.

True to her word, Kira met up with Dorcas at the hourglasses at half eight. After a bit of encouragement and some tight hugs, she linked her arm with Dorcas to guide her toward the stairs leading down to the dungeons. It was there the girls would hopefully find Sirius and Remus waiting, and they could receive further instruction. "No matter what happens tonight, you promise me you won't let them bring you down, Cassie. You hold your head high," she added, giving her friend a side-smile as they approached the stairs.

Remus had been waiting patiently at the base of the staircase, leaning against the banister talking quietly with Sirius. When he had seen Kira's journal entry, well, it would be an understatement to say the Gryffindor prefect was upset. Remus was pissed. If there was one thing he didn't tolerate it was people hurting his friends and he knew, despite how he felt about Narcissa, that her leaving Dorcas out of her birthday party was hurting the poor girl.

Sirius and Remus knew how to get into the Slytherin common room no problem. It wasn't a hard thing considering they knew the castle like the back of their hands. Remus's only hoped he wouldn't get into anything being a Prefect and helping with some minor rules breaking.

His badge was tucked in his pocket, just in case, and had his wand on him as well. It was probably over thinking the whole mess, but he would rather be safe than sorry. Remus was dressed normally, a pair of tan trousers and a maroon sweater, nothing fancy because this wasn't about him, it was about Dorcas. He was only backup after all.

When the girls approached, Remus gave a small smile as Dorcas hugged him and then Sirius. "You know we're always here for you, Dor." There was still a frown line etched into his forehead, but he tried to make his voice sound light. "Shall we ladies?" He smirked looking out of the corner of his eye at Sirius.

Sirius was nothing less than very excited for the events he was sure would transpire. Getting to save a mate and quite likely to make a few Slytherins' lives miserable in the process? What was not to like? Especially this particular Slytherin. Narcissa was part of the family he had deserted once and for all not more than a couple of months ago. In Sirius' mind, she didn't deserve to be friends with a sweet girl like Dorcas, and she certainly deserved whatever the four of them were going to give her.

Of course, in order to get that far, they would have to get in. Sirius and Remus knew where the common room was, of course; the tricky part was getting the password. Sirius had used his charisma for good and had managed to talk a rather indiscriminate fourth year into giving up the password, which he had written on a slip of parchment that was tucked safely into the back pocket of his jeans. Of course, he had dressed full Muggle to exacerbate the situation, as was his way: a white t-shirt, his favourite black leather jacket, and tight grey jeans.

When Dorcas came up to them, Sirius hugged her easily in greeting, then gave Kira a hug too, simply because he could. "Don't worry, Dorcas. We'll sort her out." Then, Sirius offered his arm to Kira. This was more to make sure that Remus and Dorcas would link arms than anything else, but he certainly didn't mind having the Ravenclaw girl on his arm.

The foursome progressed down the dungeons, Sirius leading the way easily, until they stopped at what appeared to be a very normal stretch of wall. Sirius dropped Kira's arm, and with a flourish, pulled out his parchment with the password. "Magus est pollentia," he read in his most posh accent. Immediately, the wall folded in upon itself to reveal a short passageway, at the end of which was a rather ornate door. "Shall we?" said Sirius, standing aside to let the women go first, almost as if he were a proper gentleman.

To say Kira was proud of her mate was an understatement at this point. It was nights like these there was no doubt why Dorcas had made it into the noble House of Godric Gryffindor. Kira always found herself attracted to the courageous personalities, and for good reason. They challenged her to think outside her perfect world of reason and logic, to do the bold and unexplainable. Things like this, to be exact! Kira released her hold on Dorcas and watched patiently as hugs were exchanged, remotely surprised to receive the hug from Sirius. Sure, they were mates, but their interactions were typically fiery at best. Tonight they were united against a common rival, though, and Kira figured that meant they could forgo the usual nonsense and get down to business. Returning the embrace with a smile, she thanked him and Remus for turning up. She figured they would considering how juicy the opportunity, but even so, it meant an extra bout of strength to the girls. Walking into the serpents lair with that extra bit of oomph on their side was promising. Kira knew no matter what happened, they'd be able to handle it for the most part, outnumbered or not.

After Sirius had reassured Dorcas, Kira wrapped her arm around his. She gave a glance over her shoulder to Remus and Dorcas, as if to say she expected them to follow suit, prior to being led down to the dungeons. Though she would ever deny it, she couldn't hide the truth from herself. There was something comforting in having Sirius by her side through this entire thing. The two talked casually amongst themselves, Kira taking his lead when it came to giving the other two a bit of space. It wasn't until they reached the alleged Slytherin common room that she felt Sirius break away.

It was her instinct to wrap her arms around her torso, but Kira fought the urge. She didn't want now to be the time she showed any signs of concern, not in front of Dorcas. Turning to face her best mate, Kira gave her a quick wink before smoothing her hands over her dress and walking through the passageway. Though she was rather impressed by the ornate green decor, Kira walked into the common room as if she owned the place. She didn't act like someone who'd come to crash a party, but rather like she belonged precisely where she was. Rather than continue to the couches, she waited for the others prior to taking her next step. She thought better than to try to link arms with Sirius again, knowing well enough the boys were their best bet should any hexes be hurled their direction. Occupying their arms would've meant a slower reaction, at least that was her rationalization at the moment. Instead Kira linked arms with Dorcas, resting her other hand over the girl's arm as if to reassure her. With a smile, she then turned to face the Slytherins.

Many of them didn't notice the group at first, but as Kira led them further into the common room, a few began to talk in rather loud whispers about the out of place students. Kira smirked at an underclassmen as he gawked, shifting her eyes back to Sirius prior to speaking to Dorcas again. "Did you bring the gift, love?" she questioned her mate, keeping her eyes fixed on the Slytherins as they moved throughout the crowd. Some moved out of the way, others warranted a nudge from Kira's shoulder. Before they knew it, they'd made it to the refreshments and a table stocked full of gifts.

Following Sirius' and Kira's lead, she took Remus' arm in hers, not even thinking about anything in particular at that point. She forced another smile at Remus and Sirius, nodding her head slightly, trying to believe their words. Though, as they reached their destination a thousands thoughts started to cloud her mind. Things were going to happen behind that wall that she may or may not want to take back. Confronting Narcissa would either mean the end of their friendship or making it stronger, and the sudden dread in her stomach told her she wasn't sure if she wanted the former or the latter. And even if it did happen to be the former, she'd put on an exterior to reassure her friends that she was okay, even if she wasn't. As much as she'd like to believe she wouldn't let Narcissa get to her, it was impossible for the thought not to slip in her mind. She'd been friends with the girl since fourth year, and she held the friendship rather highly, so whatever was in store for her was going to be hard.

Dorcas caught Kira's wink, offering her a reassuring smile. Despite her worries, Dorcas knew she could handle herself, besides, if Narcissa was the friend she thought she was, she knew she wouldn't let things get to out of hand. She followed Kira into the passage way, dropping Remus' arm, preparing herself for whatever may happen. Upon entering the common room, she totally disregarded the decor which was entirely new to her and focused her eyes on the party guests. Her eyebrows creased as she grew a little angry, realising that some of the people present were hardly friends with Narcissa, they were barely acquaintances. She felt Kira link arms with her, which brought her back to reality and the reassurance that she had friends with her.

As they moved further into the crowd, Dorcas' eyes fell on a few faces. They'd been there barely a minute and they'd already ruffled feathers. She glanced back at Remus before concentrating on the path in front of her as they weaved in and out of the crowd. Dorcas nodded, rather embarrassed that while she considered Narcissa important enough to purchase a gift, she obviously didn't think Dorcas was important enough to invite to her party. "Yes." She said in a rather hushed tone as she uncovered the gift from under her jacket. She'd gotten her a lovely and mystical dragon charm to add to the charm bracelet that she noticed she seemed to wear frequently. It may have not been as extravagant as the other gifts, but at least it was something she would love. Her eyes fell on the table in front of them before she quickly turned to her mate. "Spotted her yet? I'd rather give it to her personally, if you know what I mean." She declared, rather proudly, fully knowing what she wanted to say to Narcissa. She glanced around the room, her eyes narrowing at the various groups scattered around the common room, hoping she'd spot the blonde sooner rather than later.
