Characters: Kira, Dorcas, Remus, Sirius, and soon open to all attending Narcissa's birthday!!!
Setting: BACKDATED | Friday, October 29th | 8:45 P.M. | The hourglasses, proceeds to the stairs leading to the dungeon, and then the Slytherin common room!
Content: NSFW | likely to be issues with Slytherins!
Summary: Dorcas is going to crash Narcissa's birthday party to determine once and for all whether or not she is a true friend.
Status: Incomplete

Kira was beyond riled up over the recent discovery her mate Dorcas wasn't invited to Narcissa's self-hosted birthday bash. Though she had little desire to help her mate kindle this risky friendship, Kira was willing to bet her right hand Narcissa had intentionally left Dorcas off the guest list. If that was the case, Dorcas had every right to know why. Kira wouldn't have been able to live with herself had she known about this all along and not warned Dorcas of the entire thing, particularly after her mate had opened up to her about concerns regarding the friendship with the Slytherin girl.

Deciding her best bet was to proposition reinforcements, Kira exchanged some friendly words with Sirius to make sure he was on board. Of course, that was hardly necessary considering he tended to jump at any occasion to make Slytherins uncomfortable. Still she figured she owed it to him considering it was his birthday weekend. Remus was much easier to persuade, possibly because he fancied Dorcas but maybe slightly owing to his own friendship with Kira. Either way, she had everyone she needed on her side. All that remained was getting into the snake pit.

Although Kira had planned on wearing her Ravenclaw robes to further the divide between her and the Slytherins, she decided to settle with a loose dress and some beige sandals. Such was her typical weekend attire when the girl actually put forth the effort, and this evening she had no intention of being the cause of further embarrassment on Dorcas' behalf. Though Kira was certain there was no pleasing a Slytherin, because said students were already far too pleased with themselves to take anyone else into consideration, she figured it probably wouldn't kill her to show her mate she cared enough to look the part. That would make this little plan of theirs seem less like a crashing, more like inviting themselves along for the ride. Anyone with half a brain would probably figure it out, though.

True to her word, Kira met up with Dorcas at the hourglasses at half eight. After a bit of encouragement and some tight hugs, she linked her arm with Dorcas to guide her toward the stairs leading down to the dungeons. It was there the girls would hopefully find Sirius and Remus waiting, and they could receive further instruction. "No matter what happens tonight, you promise me you won't let them bring you down, Cassie. You hold your head high," she added, giving her friend a side-smile as they approached the stairs.

Once again, Narcissa had made a fool out of her and left Dorcas feeling terribly embarrassed. It was something that she was starting to learn, it was something that came with Narcissa's friendship. Whenever Narcissa or one of her friend's did something cruel, she felt it. She felt embarrassed and guilty. It was even harder because time and time again she had to not only defend Narcissa but their friendship as well. It was beginning to become tiresome and she was sick of feeling embarrassed. Dorcas wasn't only embarrassed by Narcissa's actions, she was beginning to feel embarrassed by her own as well. She was the one who was constantly defending her, after all. She was also the person turning into a terrible friend because of her. It had been less than a month ago that she had a tiff with Kira about it, it was safe to say that Dorcas wasn't one for fighting with her friends, and it only made things worse when that friend in question didn't even invite her to her birthday party.

Dorcas had considered it was maybe because Narcissa assumed she would be uncomfortable. When she read Kira's journal entry that happened to be her immediate thought after she decided she certainly wasn't going to let Narcissa hurt her feelings. She also certainly wasn't going to let anyone else know that she was rather upset, well, working hard at not being upset. There was a tinge of hope deep down inside of her that tried to convince her that this was all a misunderstanding. But she had spoken to Narcissa over the journals the previous day, was the party a last minute thing? Or did Narcissa just 'forgot' to mention it? And it wasn't like Narcissa particularly cared about other people's feelings so why would she assume Dorcas would feel uncomfortable, better yet, why would she care if Dorcas felt that way? She knew Narcissa well enough to know that she wouldn't care about her guests' feelings, just as long as they were there to shower her with gifts and attention. After Dorcas thought everything over a thousand times, there was nothing else to assume apart from what was in front of her: Narcissa, her 'friend' didn't think she was important enough to invite to her party. Further than that, Dorcas was starting to believe that maybe Narcissa was ashamed of the friendship. Dorcas on the other hand wasn't one to let others' doubts question anyone of her friendships, but now, every one of their concerns seemed to becoming much more than simple concerns.

Nevertheless, Kira had offered her help if finding out why she had been left of the guest list. Dorcas started getting herself ready around forty minutes before the agreed meeting time. She had a little trouble picking out a suitable outfit. It was just a party, though, Dorcas knew everything with Cissa was always over extravagant. She decided on a floral dress, partnered with a brown belt and brown heels. Before she left she promised Molly she would be back as soon as she could, grabbed her denim jacket on the way out along with Narcissa's gift. She managed to hang her jacket over her arm, hiding her right hand and furthermore the present. If she wasn't welcome, showing up with a gift was rather embarrassing so as long as kept it hidden under the jacket she could avoid any awkward situations. She was also a little embarrassed of letting her friends that were escorting her see it. Once again, Dorcas had been made a fool of in front of her friends.
