Summary: Everybody parties at the Halloween Ball!

This is your ball post, everyone! Here's how this will go.

Different locations in the Great Hall will be posted as separate comments, which will include a little description of each. These will be the Entrance Hall, the Dance Floor, and the Tables. You should reply to any/all of these comments with your character, and if other characters reply to that subthread, they are interacting with your character. Please indicate in the subject whether your character's subthread is open or whether it has participants in mind already (EG, maybe John is at the ball and taking a break from dancing at the tables, waiting to see if someone comes up to him, so the title for his comment would be "Jack/Open", but maybe Jill is meeting Adam at the ball, so she would reply to the Entrance Hall thread with "Jill/Adam" in the subject).

Please wait to reply the ball until all the comment locations are up. Backdating of threads/journals related to the ball is allowed until Tuesday, and posting placeholders is not allowed. If you have any questions, feel free to PM the mod account!

Dolores decided to attend the ball for one reason and one reason alone: to be a good Prefect and supervise everything, in the hopes that her diligence would please the powers that be. Having fun was not a priority, but would be a welcomed bonus if she was fortunate enough to experience it.

The most difficult thing had been overcome: finding a costume that would favour both her figure and her position. Being short and stocky, most of her initial ideas were quickly dismissed until she eventually found the ideal solution: Madame de Pompadour, who not only had been the most powerful woman of France at some point, but also dressed in the sort of clothes that would look good on Dolores. Two very good pluses.

Unwilling to mingle with the riffraff and yet hoping to keep an eye on them (and be seen doing so), she decided to find a strategic spot by the tables. Let the show begin, she thought to herself.

Gawin was feeling good tonight. Just before the dance he decided to go out behind greenhouse number two and sparked up a spliff. He would have had firewhiskey with Teddy but today he felt that it a much better idea to have a spliff and be mellow then get smashed and be angry. It was weird how booze affected him but then again, his dad could never handle it and his siblings won’t touch the stuff. After that he took a quick shower, spritzed some cologne on to mask the smell and downed Amelia Bones yellow dress and a pair of pump’s from Hestia that he charmedyellow to match his dress. He hadn’t done much with his hair aside from charming it straight and Gladys helped him with his make up. All and all he liked this look.

What he didn’t do was shave his legs. He never had before and he did have VERY hairy legs. That didn’t bother him and he wasn’t wearing stocking either but did promise to wear boxers so Mia would feel better about wearing this dress after he was done with it. While he hadn’t been dancing just yet his feel did hurt him quite a bit so he headed for the tables. How women could wear these everyday was a mystery to him, as most things women seemed to be. He passed by Umbridge without noticing her since he was pretty sure balls weren’t her thing.

He went for a cauldron cake but eyed the punch cautiously. He figured that the Gryffindor’s may have spiked it and went for what looked like pumpkin juice instead.

Dolores arched an eyebrow when she noticed a very hairy girl in yellow walk by. It was only after she had advanced towards the cauldron cakes that Dolores realized that she wasn't a "she" after all, but that very strange and rude boy Robards.

She smirked. Honestly, the ideas some people had.

Calmly and trying to emulate the ladylike poise her costume demanded, she headed towards the cakes and took one as well. She had an urge to ask who (or what) Robards was meant to be, but decided that silence was probably a better idea. If he wanted to make a fool of himself, then he should have the first word.
