Characters: Kira Fenwick & Sirius Black
Setting: Tuesday, September 15 | 6:30 AM | Gryffindor Boys' Showers

Summary: Recent events have led Kira to believe James, Sirius, and the rest of their posse could do with a little humbling. For that very reason she sought out Lily's help to sneak into Gryffindor Tower and spike their shampoo!
Status: Complete

Although Kira had always got along rather well with Sirius and the rest of his mates, the events of the past week had left her with a bit of a sour taste in her mouth. She butted heads with Black in Transfiguration class, but the two did manage to make peace between them shortly after. Despite all that, talk on Lily's recent journal entry led Kira to believe the boys could do with some good, old fashioned humbling. They spent so much time being the ones entertaining the student body that no one really had a proper chance to get even.

However, that was all about to change. Kira stumbled upon a beautiful mistake in Potions class just the day before. Crushing instead of chopping and a few stinging nettle leaves as opposed to ivy was all it took. Typically Kira was on top of her game where class participation came in to play, but today her mind was elsewhere. She considered it nothing more than Wuthering Heights withdrawals. Whatever the reason, when Slughorn tested her potion after class he discovered the consequences of her mistakes.

Kira was initially quite appalled, apologetically so, that her professor's hair littered the floor following a sip of her potion. Fortunately his eyebrows, eyelashes, and she assumed everything else, remained intact. Regardless, it was difficult to face him. He offered to give her a second chance during a free period later in the week, one she gladly took, and she took off with a sample of her potion under his instruction to test for the error and correct it.

What Slughorn could never have foreseen was the fact Kira had better things in mind for that potion. Sirius, who had already told her several times before how cherished his hair was, would be in for a big surprise. Though initially she was going to try to focus her efforts on him alone, Lily's journal entry allowed her to see the whole lot of his mates could do with a little humiliation. Kira poked around to figure out the easiest way to make the switch between their bottles and her own, and once she had what she deemed to be a fool proof plan, she asked for Lily's blessing. All systems were "go."

Bright and early, long before she assumed anyone would be alert enough to start getting ready for classes, Kira offered up the password Lily tipped her off on before the Fat Lady's portrait and made her way into the Common Room. Admittedly it was her first time surrounded by the red and gold, but having prepared herself in advance through Hogwarts, a History, she wasted little time dawdling. With one shampoo bottle filled with potion tucked under her arm, she made headway for the boys' showers. It would take no more than a squeeze into each shampoo container, followed by a hearty shake, to do the trick.

The showers were spaced rather strangely compared to that of the girls' showers in Ravenclaw, but Kira wasn't too concerned about that. She had enough to dart between the gaps and fill every container she could find to ensure the Black and his posse wouldn't be missed. After what had to have been her third shower, Kira froze just outside the curtain of a familiar voice. Speaking of the devil, it was Sirius Black singing some sort of song about a bicycle. Scrunching her nose up and covering her mouth with the back of her arm to stifle her laughter, Kira considered simply reaching a hand in to switch out the entire bottle with whatever bottle was in there already. She could see the edge of it from under the curtain, so maybe it wouldn't be near as difficult as it sounded after all! Just when she was crouching down to reach for it, she heard a rather loud voice in the doorway. She couldn't make out who it was, but rather than risk being discovered, Kira forced herself to do the unthinkable.

Not wasting any more time, the Ravenclaw thought on her feet and darted into Sirius' shower with her bottle of potion. As if on cue, he spun around to see what the hell was going on, and immediately her hand shot up to his mouth to keep him quiet, trying her best to avoid getting too close to the water and to keep her eyes fixed on his. Much to her displeasure, the voice drew closer to their area, the boy it belonged to stopping just by the sinks and starting up the water. Rolling her eyes in exasperation, Kira looked anxiously at the curtain. Thanks to this tosser her plan was a bust.

When the other bloke in the bathroom spoke up, apparently having heard Sirius swearing, he felt a rush of adrenaline. It wasn't as if he would be embarrassed if caught, but he was definitely caught up in the situation now. "Just knocked the faucet and nearly froze my bits off, but I'm okay, cheers," Sirius called out, his voice its usual easy drawl as if there were nothing whatsoever wrong. That seemed to be enough to satisfy the boy, at least for now, anyway, and he went back to his ridiculously long morning routine.

Of course, Sirius wasn't really complaining about how long it was taking him. If anything, he was appreciative: this was fun, much better than how he had expected his morning to turn out. Kira was right, though: he really wouldn't push her out of the shower and leave her to get in trouble. That would be dishonourable, after all. Then again, it'd be pretty dishonourable of her to turn the freezing water on him again, so he wasn't making any promises. "Yeah, you're probably right," Sirius whispered, deliberately taunting her with his emphasis.

However, he didn't get a chance to prove himself honest or a liar, because just then, the door opened. Sirius waited for a moment to see if it was the tosser at the sink leaving or someone coming in. Since it was quiet, he decided it was probably the former, and a cursory glance through a gap in the curtain suggested as much. "There you go. Next time, you might want a better backup plan than jump in the shower with someone, just a tip. Probably won't be someone as gorgeous as me next time," he teased, leaning against the wall of the shower lazily.

Thankfully Kira wasn't betrayed by him. Sirius delivered a beautiful, unwavering excuse that wasn't entirely untrue. "It could do you some good to go without them, if you ask me," Kira leaned in to his ear to sass back in spite of things, smiling at the thoughts running through her mind. She wanted to take a jab at the fact he was smaller than the last one, though not entirely true. Yet, it somehow did her spirit good to cut him down to size now and then, and Sirius would just as likely take such a comment as a means of teasing her for having copped a look. Kira was well aware he'd probably known already she'd done just that, but it wasn't as if that was her aim all along. There's only so much shuffling around two could do in such a small space, and it never hurts to be sure to avoid any unwanted contact, right?

Surprisingly enough, Kira's uneasiness had somewhat given way to similar amusement. Her wrath was prodded at every time Sirius made a remark about her flawed plans, but she merely reminded herself that he had little room to talk. Gryffindors, specifically the one standing before her now, was known to fly by the seat of his pants with just about everything. Perhaps it was his means of breaking as far away as possible from his family and their structure and routine. Whatever the case may be, Kira knew better than to take advice on planning from Sirius Black. Turning her eyes away from the curtain after having drawn it back to see the boy was gone, Kira glanced back to Sirius once more. "Backup plans. Advice from Sirius Black. I truly have heard it all," she teased back, smirking at the casual, collected boy. "Next time, I'll keep my fingers crossed the bloke has a little more to offer than what's skin deep. Maybe then I would happily cave to the temptation." With one swift downward movement of her hand, Kira turned the freezing water on high once more. After all, honor was a Gryffindor quality wasn't it? She gave Sirius' face a gentle pat on the cheek with the same hand before slipping out of the shower, only turning around to reach back underneath his feet for the potion bottle. There was enough left to ditch in another nearby shower, so after discarding her evidence and drying herself off via her wand, Kira slipped back to the door. "Thanks for the memories, Black," she called out over the sound of his shower, laughing quietly to herself as she darted through Gryffindor tower and back to the portrait hole.
