Caradoc was at Julia's house in minutes, pounding on her door. He'd hoped he could put off this conversation a lot longer, but he wasn't sure he had much of a choice at this point. He'd been careless to mention his vanishing to Emmeline. Julia didn't know many people there yet; of course she'd be reading her journal.

He didn't want to stay at her doorstep long; he was unused to showing up at her front door and still felt quite nervous about it. They still couldn't risk being caught.

Julia dropped her gaze. She shrugged. "I don't... I don't really know what to make of it all. I'm sort of... not thinking about it, because when I do, I just feel... like it's too big right now."

She bit her bottom lip, "I wish I could see her. Odd, isn't it? I've never really wanted to be a mother but learning that I'll have a daughter makes me... miss her somehow."
