Albus really didn't want to have this talk with Teddy. Everything about it screamed drama and heart break. It was a know fact that Teddy had never really been good at anything that required having an actual relationship, which is what Albus had dreamed of having for a few years now. His undying crush on Teddy Lupin would be the death of him.

Sitting outside of his home, Albus glanced down both sides of the street as he waited for Teddy to arrive. And prepared his heart for the worst.

	Albus sighed heavily and rubbed the back of his neck. This wasn't the conversation they should have been having. They should have been having a friendly conversation like they'd always had together. 	The sigh was contagious, because next it was Teddy sighing and feeling bad for making Albus feel guilty about it. He hadn't meant to sound so short with Albus. "No, it's okay. It's not you. 	Coming to a slow stop, Teddy shook his head. He opened his mouth to say it was nothing, but then realised that wasn't an option now. It was just a reflex for him to act like there was nothing wrong and nothing for anyone to worry about. He looked down and kicked a tuft of grass. The tips of his hair pinkened faintly. "Right," he said, not sure how else to respond to that. Knowing Albus thought of him in that way was still difficult to wrap his brain around, and hearing him boldly state it was a whole new can of indescribable.

"If I tell you this, you can't tell another soul because I haven't told anyone and it's something that I really don't need Skeeter writing about.."

The pink tips of Teddy's hair were a giveaway to his embarrassment. Albus felt both bad and good about it. He grinned and brushed his fingers lightly through Teddy's hair before pulling it back.

Albus gave Teddy a slightly offended look at his request. As if he'd ever told any of Teddy's secrets before. He nodded though and looked around for anyone who might be listening. "I'd never tell your secrets, Teddy."

"I know you wouldn't, it's just.. This is a really big one, and it's not exactly my secret, only it sort of is, but not really," Teddy babbled before he managed to shut his mouth again. He sat down on the grass and propped his elbows up on his knees. They were in the park, not far into it, but no one seemed to be around.

"It's about my mum and dad.." he trailed off, gazing up at the sky again. "My mum doesn't know who my father really is."

Albus glanced at Teddy with wideneded eyes. What did he mean that his mother didn't know who his father was? How could she not know who his father was? Hadn't she always been with Remus Lupin? Albus wasn't completely sure of the details, but he was fairly certain that's the way it had been.

"What?" He asked in confusion, then shook his head. "Of course she knows who your Dad is. She's married to him."

Albus felt more hurt now than he had before. His heart was thumping against his ribcage and he felt like he was going to vomit. He glanced at Teddy for a long moment, then grabbed him by his collar and kissed him deeply.

After a moment, the pain eased and he took a step back, tears in his eyes. "Maybe I don't know what love is. But, it's what I feel. I'll leave you alone forever now."

"Am I supposed to be happy about everyone wanting me and no one considering what I want?" As soon as the words flew out of his mouth, Teddy winced at himself. That sounded a lot more selfish than he wanted it to.

"Albus, you need to understand-- I just-- I would end up breaking your heart no matter how hard I'd try not to. You know me. You know I can't stay in relationships. Saying you're in love with me terrifies me."
