Who Draco & His Father
What An honest conversation -- Malfoy style
When Monday
Where Outside, and then Inside--Brews and Bottoms
I'm tired of being what you want me to be
Feeling so faithless lost under the surface
Don't know what you're expecting of me
Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes
When Hermione Granger was the highlight of your week, and you are Draco fucking Malfoy, you know that something is seriously fucking wrong with the world. Severus Snape wanted to try and keep him out of harm's way, Albus Potter was already gearing up to play the hero in his father's place and get up to--Merlin only knew what, with the Dark Lord. He's just shut his journal after reading a note from Bellatrix--he hadn't even properly had the chance to celebrate the fact she'd left--and his father was here.
His father was here.
Draco didn't know what to do. A part of him wanted to run to Lucius, half toss himself at his mercy and just tell him everything that had happened. About the fact that Tom was here, Harry was dead, and he was--
--not going to tell him about Albus. He was not going to tell him about Severus. He was actually starting to wonder if there wasn't some pureblooded witch about that he could pay to pretend he was his girlfriend, but none were really coming to mind.
He'd been hesitant to give Hermione too many of the details, but he was regretting it now because he felt like he needed her. She would probably have some really good fucking advice at a time like this, and she would--he felt like she'd believe he'd changed. Like he honestly wasn't about to change his spots and flee back to the Dark Lord out of loyalty. Merlin, he'd hardly been loyal in the first place. Just kept their with threats, and lies and...
Lucius. He needed to see Lucius and tell him everything. He needed to tell his father that he faced Azkaban and that the Dark Lord went out of his way to ruin their family because of Lucius' failures and not his own. He had to convince his father that he ought to stay away from Tom Riddle as much as possible, ought to not get involved because Draco didn't know if he could manage trying to keep himself, Severus and Potter alive. It was too much for him to do--especially on his own.
He needed his father.
Draco didn't even know where to begin looking for him. It wasn't like Lucius had been all that forthcoming in his journal. He decided he'd just leave the bar unattended for a moment and go in search of him. Someone must know something, because Lucius was not exactly the type to fade into the background.
He flung the bar door open and trekked out into the damp ground, turning around the corner sharply and running into--with enough force to almost knock himself over--Lucius Malfoy.
"What--Watch where you're going you---"
Well shit.
