Andromeda would not giggle. She was far too old to giggle, never mind the fact that she was married and very happy with Ted. But she felt a familiar skipping of her heart as Stubby smiled, the same way that muggle girls must have felt around the Beatles. The unattainable rockstar that they could never have, but could dream about safely without being hurt; and Stubby had been a rockstar to Andie. She’d played his music late at night when she needed to study for her healer exams, and still knew every word of his earlier albums. She was half sure that Dora knew a few bars of his music just by listening to Andie hum it from time to time.
The fact that he’d called her ‘lovely’ wasn’t helping her already warm cheeks, and Andie was trying hard to remember that she was not 20, she was 45. She’d last seen Stubby twenty years before. He hadn’t changed, not in her eyes.
“Um- I was… I am a very big fan. I attended one of your concerts in the 70’s, I doubt you would remember me!” she said, chuckling and trying very hard to forget that she’d kissed him that night, and had probably done something incredibly embarrassing. Table dancing. She’d done that before, but that had been at her bachelorette party.
