Entry tags:bellatrix black, cassius everard

Who: Cassius and Bellatrix (OPEN to Godric)
When: Tuesday evening
Where: 14 Quills
What: Being neighborly
Rating/Status Probably low/Incomplete

After the suspicious greeting he'd received from the opposite neighbor, Cassius came to this encounter better prepared. Ideally, he would have prepared a well-stocked liquor cabinet to invite them to, but with Kirley's vexsome presence and a lack of funding to stock a cabinet properly yet, he had to make do.

With his company smile firmly in place, Cassius knocked on the door."

"You will? I must say that is interesting." Extremely. It was useful to know the potential of the people around you. "Have you done anything particular heinous in your own lifetime then? Before you were brought here? Or is it only in the future history books?"

And what, of course, had she actually done to earn her such a reputation. There were such fascinating people here in Lockewood!

"No, but I was well on my way to doing so once I graduated." Her plans had been set in stone for quite some time. "From what I've read, I kill several and torture many more." She cast him a bright smile for emphasis. "And, by the way, a few of those victims of mine are here now, which is just fascinating."

Cassius considered the beautiful young woman in front of him. She was not, at first appearance, a mad genius like Gellert, but she seemed to possess some quality in common with the man. Some quality that allowed her to- as she said- kill and torture and, if Cassius was not mistaken, enjoy it.

And compared to Gellert, what Bellatrix had done was a drop in the ocean. "I'm sure it is," he agreed, completely affable. "So, would you available for tea, then?"

Bellatrix was startled, and even someone as composed as she couldn't help but let it show. That was not the reaction she had expected, nor would any sane person. "I'm sorry. You want to have tea with a murderess?"

Truly, Cassius didn't much care if she had murdered people, so long as she was ally to him, rather than enemy. But that was hardly a wise thing to say on a first acquaintance, in public, with a young lady. Instead, he only continued smiling. "Well, it sounds as though you personally haven't killed anybody." He dipped his head, adding a little teasing into his expression. "Perhaps I shouldn't let you touch my tea, though?"

"Have I misjudged you?" Her gaze became more intent as she gave him another once over. Even a second time, he seemed too friendly and had too sweet a look about him to be anything genuinely terrible. "Are you a bad man, Mr. Everard?"

Cassius drew himself up, a bit ofronted. "Of course not," he snapped, the denial harsher than he intended. Some had accused him of such, but never in such a casually inquisitive way. The sheer peculiarity of it left him momentarily off-balance.

Gathering himself again, he asked, more casually, "Do I seem like a bad man, Miss Black? After all, I only came to ask you to tea." He was not a bad man, not like Gellert, not like- apparently- Bellatrix Black. He was simply a practical one. That was all.

"I don't know, Mr. Everard." She tucked a strand of hair innocently behind her ear. "There aren't very many nice men who have tea with murderers." She smiled then, a wicked one that matched her personality. "But then, I am not a fan of many nice men." James Sirius Potter appearing to be the only exception thus far.
