alright! let's do this! i've got park hye-soo (soo for short) here, and she's a film major at korea national university of the arts and an employee at the local etude house in itaewon. getting those discounts, tbh. itty bitty soo grew up in busan with her mother and her little sister. her father passed away when she was about five years old, succumbing to coronary heart disease. still, she was so young when it happened that she managed to keep a smile on her face throughout most of her upbringing! she loved growing up with an annoying little sister to spoil and a mother who cherished them both endlessly. the family eventually packed up and moved to gangnam-gu in seoul because of a job opportunity that promised higher pay on her mother's end. now, she's on her own in a small loft apartment with her tiny nugget named kevin after an american exchange student in her class.
soo is pretty odd and quirky - she can talk for hours and hours about movies and dramas and cartoons, anything under the sun. strange at first glance, but she's a really nice person who enjoys meeting new people and making friends. i would really love some co-workers for her at etude house, neighbors on both sides of her, a roommate, someone whose notes she constantly stole in the one math class that she had to take, noraebang buddies, childhood friends, first crush/high school boyfriend, a girl she experiments with, someone for chicken and soju nights, etc. give me everything!

hey everyone! i'm so happy to see some of you posting for lines in here already. i just wanted to post a quick note in here to let you all know that your characters are all neighbors in some sense of the word, as everyone lives in the same apartment building. i've created a page for you to choose what sort of apartment your character lives in here! so essentially, all of your characters will have had some type of interaction in the past. have fun, everyone!

while i slowly, but surely, pull together her journal and flesh her out a bit character-wise, this is soyi byun, and yes, i did get a laugh out of it being close to 'soy bun' for some reason. she is 21 years old, attends korea national university of arts for music technology and makes good on her expenses, the rental type and for her dj aspirations, by working at club mute as a bartender. she was born in incheon, but at some point during her childhood, her family moved to seoul because her dad got a promotion within the tbd company he worked and she has been there ever since! contrary to the potential 'party girl' night life she can lead, she is momma bear at her core and will mother hen anyone and everyone at the slightest hint of an ailment, be someone ill or just stressed out to pieces.
she can use everything in way of lines! i'd love to get a roommate for her if anyone is interested in having to shout at the top of their lungs when she has her headphones on. otherwise, the unfortunate victims of shared walls, friends of all kinds, exes, high school and college peers, club buddies and people to serve on nights out. i'm happy to brainstorm something up!

hello all! i'll come back around to comment everyone later, but for now this is kyungjae moon, he's 20, and he's currently attending seoul national university and studying botany. he was born in gwangju and came to seoul for college and occasional family visits and for the most part is still trying to get used to life in a major city. to make ends meet, he works as a waiter/general staff person at a bbq chain in itaewon so he'd probably run into people here and there but you'll have to excuse how messy he looks flitting around in an apron. i'm still fleshing him out but personality wise he's just a big nerd who's in love with plants and life. he's the optimistic type and tries to see the bright side of everything, though some people would just mark him as young and naive. he's innocent in a lot of different senses of the word and really easily impressed so uh tl;dr someone protect him but anyway i'd love any and all lines! he could use a roommate or two, adjacent neighbors, classmates, coworkers, people to badly influence him, relatives, exes and flings of both genders, i'm here for it all!

hey all, this is junsu "jon" nam who is a 23/24 year old english/ESL teacher for elementary school kids at a tbd school. he was born and raised in cambridge, massachusetts and graduated from boston university 2016 studying business and english literature, he's korean american and fluent in english, korean, and japanese. as a cliche too good to pass up he's the only son of a CEO of a decent sized korean company so the pressure is on him to take up the family biz. jon moved to the area beginning of last summer but he's been traveling back and forth between the two countries since he was young to accompany his dad on business trips, visit relatives, etc. and he spent some years in elementary school in korea.
contrary to his background he isn't a complete spoiled brat (though he does have his moments) but has a host of other vices like drinking, smoking, bar hopping, and clubbing on the weekends. the first impression people tend to get from him is that he's a big ol flirt who's confident in who he is BUT pls don't call him a fuckboy cause he'll get sad and try his best to charm the person's opinion into a better one. his good points are that he's genuinely friendly, warm, carefree, loves kids, and is always down to have a good time or help out a neighbor in need! imagine him as a dog who enjoys looking at himself in the mirror and who chats everyone up at house parties because he wants to know everything about everyone. hobbies include playing basketball and soccer, going to the gym, jogging around random parks in the freezing cold at crazy hours, reading japanese fiction, eating very expensive things, watching dumb unpopular variety shows, traveling, and solving puzzles. he also enjoys reading and learning about gardening but hides it from the world.

hello everyone! i think i have a pretty good idea about her so this is seo dayeon! she's 24 and was born and raised in seoul, went to sungshin women's university for art and now works as a professional graphic designer for some company tbd. when she doesn't have a client or project she spends a lot of time illustrating and drawing because her real goal is to become a cartoonist. she also sells bits of her designs on pins and badges and accessories similar to the work seen here. personality wise she is a bit of an introvert and tries to push herself out of her shell so she can come across awkward in some social situations. she prefers to observe and be a listening ear for her friends and can silently fuss and mother hen over people but she's also a giant dweeb. her sense of humor is a bit childish and dorky and leans to the side of really terrible puns. she loves cartoons and video games so she could use a few friends related to that as well as any other creative types! if anyone needs family or a roommate i've left that blank for her to fill! any other friends or awkward exes/flings would be great, maybe a neighbor with a cat who hates her and they have constant standoffs, someone she creeped on while drawing comic panels or any other sort of off the wall nonsense would be great. i'm up for anything and everything and would love to brainstorm with everyone!

hi everyone! i will swing around and comment everybody in a bit but i wanted to throw this up while i had the chance! this is luke wang, he's 20 years old and originally from san diego but moved to seoul with his family when he was 10 because of his dad's job. he's currently studying psychology at seoul national university and in his spare time, he loves pretty much anything creepy/scary and likes writing short horror stories and things like that. he's embraced the weirdness of that so he's pretty comfortable in his own skin and has no problem being outgoing when needed and loves purposely scaring people. he's easy going and friendly but super forgetful when it comes to names and sometimes faces so if someone wants a line where he constantly mucks up that kind of thing and makes a fool of himself, i'm game! i'm thinking he's a delivery guy part time because i am lacking in the creativity department right now when it comes to jobs! the rest i'm still trying to figure out.
i'd love any other lines, especially if someone wants a roommate? an ex or two of either gender, maybe some friends he made when he first moved to seoul, people who purposely order delivery when they know he's working just so he has to come home and unfortunately go back to work despite the temptation to never return, any lines at all honestly because i'm up for brainstorming!

okay i gave this guy a bit of an overhaul now that i have some time, so i'm going to post another one of these. again, this kyuhyun, and he's a 30 year old second year linguistics professor at seoul university, originally from busan. he was a trainee with sm entertainment, but quit after two years to go to college because music wasn't his thing and he didn't like it, and because of that he doesn't speak to his mother's side of the family. he's very studious, very serious-minded, but get some soju in his system and he'll loosen up, promise. he can come off as broody or sulky, but that's really just his face. he enjoys reading, writing, good food, raspberry wine, dancing when it's not routines for a kpop group (war flashbacks and all), languages, and he's been known to show a dry, sarcastic sense of humor.
i already have a cousin in poktanju, a student in chillingly, a roommate in menboong and a neighbor with a horror story in gochu and a few others in process, but i could always use more. exes of either gender, unlikely friends, people he's pissed off with his bitch face, whatever we can come up with, gimme!

hello everyone! this is aaron baik, he's 23, a mukbang on youtube and an usher at the local cinema. he's (currently! it changes a lot) majoring in nursing at korea university so he can appease his mother who would much rather see him doing something productive that benefits the public, rather than watching him stuff his face for a living. he likes it though! it pays the bills and he gets to eat all sorts of delicious foods while chatting about ghosts and aliens and how slenderman totally exists. aaron is and always has been a bit of a weirdo. his mother is a psychic medium in gwangju who obsessively tries to contact their deceased father, so he developed a sense for all things strange and odd at a young age. aaron loves to go "ghost hunting" around the city and will talk anyone into going with him. he doesn't have the fancy equipment or anything, just the voice recorder on his phone. he swears he's caught evp's when really somebody probably farted in the background or something idk. he's a bit awkward and quiet, but whenever he's got a bit of alcohol in his system, he turns into a completely different person. he loves horror movies, anime, gaming (ps4 master race!!), hiking, jeju island, food obviously, weekend trips to japan, western films, dogs, etc. i would love any sort of lines for him! gaming buddies, hiking pals, people who love horror movies, people he talks into going ghost hunting with him, someone for a ouija board experiment gone terribly wrong, fellow mukbangs, an ex boyfriend or girlfriend, a neighbor who shares his wall and probably listens in on his weird ghost talk, a roommate, anything at all.

hello! now i'm mostly sure what i'm doing with him, this is kwon daeho, a 24 year old sensitive soul hailing from incheon. outwardly he lives a quiet, reserved life as a bookstore employee, and appears shy and overly polite with strangers. he's very respectful of boundaries and age hierarchies and always there for those in need, even at his own expense. though he can come off as pretty boring at first, daeho leads a secret life as a smutty romance novelist under a female pen name and has to walk a delicate line between researching for his next book and trying not to appear as a closet pervert. i would love some weird lines! a neighbor who thought he was boring and accidentally got some of his mail and discovered some kind of terrifying sex toy which shattered their image of him, the neighbor next door who hears him wailing during various kdramas, friends who take him to clubs and are always unprepared for/have been injured by his drunk windmill dance moves, a fan/reader/someone who knows of his books and has mentioned them unknowingly in his presence and now thinks he's a prude because he turned bright red and ran away. i could go all day with these things so lay it on me

HELLO i scarcely know what i am doing but i'm here to fish for lines whilst i clean this journal up. this is yoo ryong-hae, better known as ro ever since his parents discovered they accidentally named him after a north korean politician and were highly embarrassed over their life choices. he's 20 and grew up in america, california to be specific and is a starving artist so if anyone needs a roommate, come to me! as long as they don't mind the fact that he sits in his room with a lava lamp like a 10 year old boy eating lays chips and creating artwork with incense. he's a very quiet soul, possibly very stupid academically. constantly says the wrong things, usually has a glazed over look flashing across his face when he is trying to process something you're saying to him. BUT he's very sweet, good natured and loves to listen to his friends' woes, although i don't think he ever really has any good advice to give out unless it's art or video game related.
he likes carly slay jepsen, knows of like 3 k-pop groups in existence and desperately needs friends who can show him that there is more to korean cinema than train to busan because he was living in america up until like, a year ago and only surfaces from his home to go to school and/or buy snacks. BASICALLY i'm open to anything as i'm going in blind so gimme it all.

hello! this is jane, i wrote down a few things about her here but basically she is 20 years old, was born in seoul and is an ex-trainee. the idol group she was in ended up failing before they could even debut and she now finds herself scrambling for a roof over her head, a job, and an overall purpose in life. she still hasn't told her mother (who is back in thailand) about it, so going home is not an option and she's determined to find a plan b in seoul! she just doesn't know what it will be yet.
i'm looking for the kind soul, good friend or even acquaintance who accepted to take in her a few days ago until she figures things out. she will probably earnestly swear to be the best roommate ever and then unintentionally end up doing annoying shit (like cooking for her roommate but making a mess in the apartment in the process) or occasionally hide in the bathroom to mope a little, but her intentions are always usually good.
she has enough money saved up to sort of live on but not to pay rent, so finding a job is a priority (someone pls hook her up) and it would be great to find friends for her to explore the freedom she hasn't had during the past two years. i would also love to find fellow ex-trainees or people she might have met pre-debut (staff, stylists, dancers?)
