Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Cooper & Mikaela
What: Dancing; Let the games begin
When: Late Tuesday Night
Where: A Club Downtown
Rating: TBD
Open? to [info]mikaelachase only

Cooper needed to blow off steam, just like so many other nights. He had been working most of the week, 'working', leaving his fists a little bit bruised from the process. With the night off, he did not need to bother with thinking over what he was going to do. He had come home and showered before changing into some fairly loose-fitting jeans and a black button-up shirt, he grabbed his keys and wallet before he headed out of his apartment. Cooper didn't take all that much pride in many of his possessions, but the thing that was literally his baby was his motorcycle.

Hopping onto said bike, he revved the engine a few times before he tore out of his garage and toward the downtown area. He wove through what little traffic there was and parked out front of his usual spot. Tossing his keys casually to the valet there, he shook his hand like he did more than a few times a week. It had taken him a long time to actually trust the guy to move his bike.

Walking by the line outside, his eyes scanned the people waiting around to get into the club, and he smirked at a couple of girls who gave him the nod. He clapped the bouncer on the shoulder as he slid on by him. Everyone in Boston knew the Connelly boys, and didn't bother to card a single one of them, or even give them a second glance when they walked into such establishments as these. Probably because Cooper was the one to collect "bills" every month from this said club anyway.

After getting himself a beer and draining it, he shrugged off his leather jacket and handed it to the bar tender before he made his way out to the dance floor. He made some comment about 'teaching these chumps how to dance in Boston,' and practically jumped into the center of the fray. Cooper didn't think when he danced, he just let the music flow through him. He didn't do much dancing over in Iraq, and now that he was home, and his knee didn't kill him every time he stepped on it anymore, he was free to move at will. And if he happened to meet some girl who could keep up with him for the night, then he was better for it.

Cooper's eyebrow shot up at her comment, and he grinned, nodding a little. "Considering it?" He echoed, nodding a little as he picked up his fresh glass of whiskey and took a few sips of it. He cocked his head to the side a little and grinned when she met his eyes. He kept his eyes on hers, resisting the urge to indiscreetly check her out.

His smirk twisted into a wry smile at her comment and he inhaled deeply as he nodded. Draining the last of his whiskey; having absolutely no hesitance when it came to his alcohol intake. He was Irish, and the drinks took away a hell of a lot of the imaginary pain that still irked him somewhere inside of him. "Yeah they're alright." He said, nodding his head toward the crowd of people still out there dancing.

His smile took on a bit of a mischievous twist to it as he leaned in closer to her, under the facade that it was just too loud to hear her. "So how many of those fruity drinks is it going to take you to get out there with me?"

She nodded slowly, silently answering his echoing question about her interest in making her way out onto the dance floor. Her eyes narrowed only in the slightest as she watched him down his drink, as if it were water in the glass instead of what looked to be whiskey. He was a bit cocky in his demeanor, but to her that translated into confidence. And of course there was always something to admire about a confident man. His crooked smile caused a smile of her own to appear on her lips before her eyes left his, to return back to the dance floor they had been staring since she had arrived there. "I wasn't talking about them," she said at a volume just loud enough to be heard over the chattering of voices that surrounded them; after his incorrect assumption that the view she was enjoying, was that crowd of people. Mikaela had a confidence of her own, though it made less obvious by her more reserved body language. Of course that was what most liked to call playing coy, which she quickly learned always faired much better than playing easy. She still kept her eyes turned away from his, even after he indirectly asked her to dance. Now staring down at her glass, she reached for her straw before twirling it around in a small circular motion. She was only about halfway done with her drink, choosing to savor it instead of down it, as she usually would. "Oh, I don't know. Probably...one?" She said with a smile, before her eyes finally averted back to his - bringing her straw to her lips soon after, to finish off that one drink.

"Oh, you weren't?" He said, his brows arching as if that was actually a shock to him, though there was a mischievous gleam to his eyes. He smirked at the way she barely kept eye contact with him, and as much as she might be coyly looking away, he kept his eyes directly on her, even if it might be a quick scan of her figure. He ran his thumb along the rim of his glass, gathering the last few droplets of whiskey before dragging his thumb over his lips to taste the last bit of the alcohol there.

His smile grew a little at her admission that one drink is all it would take, so he nodded and pushed away from the bar enough that he could turn his body fully toward her. "Just one, huh? I hope you're not a lightweight." He said, winking at her as he glanced back behind him. The DJ was spinning a new set, and it was enough to get his blood pumping again. "So what do you say? Think you can keep up with me?" He asked, flashing her that charming grin of his.

"I wasn't." She answered him back shortly, though her tone was casual, as if she weren't actually giving herself away, when she actually was. "Something else actually caught my attention." She couldn't help but smile, even as she held her straw between her lips. Her strong southern Louisiana accent shown through each and every word she uttered, as she spoke very little to him, besides to answer his questions. Though she didn't look directly at him, she did watch him from the corner of her eye. He seemed hard pressed not to tear his eyes away from her, which helped maintain that smile she just couldn't seem to get rid of. When he moved himself away from the bar to stand directly in front of her, her eyes finally met his gaze. Finishing off her drink in a few sips, she reached back to set her glass down onto the counter with a thud, before turning her attention back to him. "I'm no whiskey drinker, but I can hold my own. It'll only take one, because it doesn't take much to get me to dance." Taking a single step towards him, she stole a quick glance back at the girls she had arrived with, who had already caught on to what was going on between her and the guy who stood before her - waving their hands for her to go on ahead and leave them to their drinks. Looking back to him with a smile, she reached for the spot below the collar of his shirt, where one of this buttons was free, giving it a light tug as she spoke softly before moving past him to make her way towards the dance floor, "I'll see what I can do about keeping up with you."

Hearing her talk a little more, his grin only widened at the accent that filled his ears. Even with the booming music, her voice was like silk. He'd always been a big sucker for accents. He clapped a hand over his heart and he grinned at here. "Well you just stole my heart with that accent." He teased, giving her a wink after he'd said it. He bowed his head at her comment, smirking as he accepted her statement. Whatever got her out on the dance floor as far as he was concerned. It was like Cooper to go pick one girl from the crowd, but usually he didn't enjoy it quite this much.

He followed her glance over to a group of girls, and just gave them a charming grin before he turned his attention back to the blonde in front of him. "I take it that's their seal of approval?" He said with a grin. His eyes glanced down when her finger hooked in his shirt, a wry smirk twisting his lips as he followed her. Something about the way she did that he found incredibly sexy. "I'll start slow, just in case." He said with a grin, following close behind her out to the dance floor.

Mikaela couldn't help but laugh at his comment about her accent. Ever since she stepped foot in Boston she had gotten comments and questions about where she was from, because they could certainly tell she wasn't from around there. As far as she was concerned, they were the ones with the accents - the Bostonian accent being another very distinctive one. "You can thank the great state of Louisiana for that one. It's where I'm from." Smiling up at him in passing after the quick wink he gave her, she glanced back to see him following closely behind her on the way to the dance floor. She simply shook her head at his comment about him starting out slow. Of course she would most likely be appreciative of that, being that her heels would prevent her from really dancing the way she really wanted to. Once Mikaela reached the dance floor she reached back to take a hold of his hand, leading him through the sea of people, and further towards the center of the floor. Upon reaching the 'perfect spot' that would give them enough space to at least move without randomly bumping into the crowd of people that surrounded them, she turned around to face him, still keeping a hold on his hand until she had pulled him just close enough to her.

"Louisiana, huh?" He said, leaning closer to her so she could hear him over the loud, booming music. "I'll definitely thank the great state for you, then." He smirked, his fingers loosely holding hers as they weaved through the crowd. He felt a little bit like he should have had more to drink, as he tended to want to walk through life since being home in a little bit of a hazed state. Then again, had he been in his normal hazed-state, he may have bypassed this hot blonde right off the bat. And wouldn't that have been a shame.

He was already practically jumping to dance, but he waited for her to direct them to her spot of choosing before he let the rhythm take over him. He smiled at her, his body close to hers as he began to move with her with the music, leaving conversation for another time.

As her body drew closer to his, moving in time with the beat of the music, she could feel the heat resonating off of him each time he brushed against her. Within moments, the music had taken over both of them, and surprisingly enough, his movements were right in tune with hers. Mikaela was the type of dancer that preferred a little space and would push her partner away, just to turn around and pull him close again. It was almost like a game to her, and this 'stranger' knew exactly how to play. The more she danced with him, the closer she aloud him to get. Before she even realized it, they had danced through several songs, losing all track of time. During a quick change over, where the DJ was switching up the beat, Mikaela leaned into him, speaking into his ear just loud enough for him to make out her words. "I need a drink. Do want to get a drink with me?" She didn't really expect him to say no. At least she hoped he wouldn't. This would at least give her the opportunity to learn more than just the fact that he liked to dance, and one of his drinks of choice was whiskey. So far, that was pretty much all she knew.

Cooper was not let down in the slightest at his newfound dance partner. He found her surprising him once or twice, even, and enjoyed getting closer to her with each song that they danced to. She was driving him nuts just by the way she moved, so he was a bit relieved when she suggested a drink. "Lead the way, darlin'." He said, mimicking her Southern drawl in the last word as he followed her toward the bar. He grinned as he walked with her, again doing a little scoping out, as he hadn't entirely had the chance to while they were dancing about. "What'll it be? Something fruity, or a little stronger?" He asked, sizing her up once they were at the bar.

Mikaela didn't even bother trying to hide the smile that crept up on her as a result of his attempt at a southern accent. It was cute, as was the way he smiled every time he stole a glance over in her direction. Grabbing a hold of his hand once again, she led the way back through the crowd, and towards the bar. The group of girls she had arrived with seemed to have decided to wander off away from their original spot, which in that moment, Mikaela wasn't too concerned about. Upon reaching the bar, she leaned herself against the edge, taking a long look at the array of bottles that lined the back shelf. She could feel his eyes on her, which tempted her to look his way, but instead she continued to act casual, keeping her eyes fixed forward, and not giving herself away anymore than she already had. "You know what, I think I'll take something a little stronger. How about you choose for me? I trust you." Her lips curled into a smile as she finally turned to watch him take his seat directly beside her. She was no whiskey drinker, but she had been known to down some hard liquor in the past. Whatever drink he decided, she was sure she could handle it.

Grinning at her, he felt in higher spirits than he had been in a long while. Usually his demeanor was a bit darker, that of a stern and diligent soldier, and not as just a 20-something guy who wanted to get out and have fun. She seemed to have exactly that effect on him, and he wasn't looking to get rid of it anytime soon.

Stealing the spot next to her on the bar, he smiled at her comment and gave her a bit of a nod. "You trust me? First mistake." He said, a smirk on his lips as he turned away from her to stare at the alcohol lined up behind the bar. "Hey, grab a bottle of Jäger, two shot glasses." He said, that boyish grin spreading across his face as he turned back to pay attention to her. "So I gotta ask. Where'd you learn to move like that?" He said, nodding back toward the floor, though his eyes never left hers.

"Well..." She paused for a moment as her eyebrow rose in an arch. "I trust that you know a thing or two about alcohol, and that you'd choose something I could handle. I don't think there's any mistake in that." Mikaela watched him at a close distance, as his eyes scanned over the selection of drinks. "Besides, it seems to me that you're used to this kind of thing; pulling a girl out onto the dance floor, and then charming her over a few drinks." Of course this was only an assumption on her part. However, his casual demeanor and his friendly interaction with the bartender made it obvious that this wasn't the first time he had waltzed into that club. She nodded at his selection - her eyes now fixed on the bartender as he prepared their shots. She could feel his eyes on her again, which immediately made her attention shift back towards him. "I just do what feels right, I suppose. I mean I've been to a few clubs back home, but that's pretty much the extent of my dance experience. But you...you move better than most guys I've seen. And if that's what you call taking it easy on me, I'm curious as to what else you have up your sleeve." Of course her curiosity went a little further than a little bit of dancing, but he didn't need to know that, just yet.

He couldn't seem to take his eyes off of her, which was clearly a testament to her. Cooper had the chronic "wandering eye", as he found it hard for someone to hold his interest for more than a couple of hours, and yet she captured his full attention. "Me? Charming? Naww." He said, dragging out the last word as he shook his head. He gave her a little wink as he grinned at her. Running his fingers along the curve of his jaw, he smiled at her comment about her dancing. "And here I thought the only dancing they'd have in Louisiana was line-dancing." He teased, smirking as he said it.

Grinning with a bit of a modest shrug at the mention of his dancing, he shook his head. "Yeah well...I've got a couple moves I wouldn't mind showing you sometime." He said, his eyes gleaming with a desire that went just a little bit beyond dancing. As if to accentuate his point, his hand gripped the side of her stool and with one strong tug, dragged her closer to him, his body turning toward hers in his stool. "Couldn't hear you very well." He lied, leaning in a bit closer to her, his arm sliding in front of her against the bar, effectively surrounding her with himself.

"Trust me, it takes a bit of charm to get me out on the dance floor with a complete stranger. You managed to do that after one drink, so I think you're doing a pretty decent job, here." Mikaela couldn't help but laugh at his attempt at modesty. He seemed the type that knew he had an affect on women, even if it was only in the slightest. Tilting herself away from him, her jaw fell slightly open, as if she had genuinely taken offense to the fact that he assumed all Louisiana bred people were all about country music and line dancing, and nothing more. Of course the smile that followed made it obvious she was only teasing. "I'll have you know, that we enjoy dancing of all kinds. Though you're somewhat correct about line dancing being a bit of a preference down south." With a light shrug, her eyes then followed his hand as he reached for her stool. There was no objection on her part, as he slid her closer towards him. Narrowing her eyes playfully, she shook her head slowly when he told the little fib about not being able to hear her. She had to hand it to him, though, so far he hadn't made a wrong move yet, which was unusual for the men that Mikaela usually met at a club. "Sure you couldn't," she finally responded, as he slid his arm across the bar. "As far as those moves go, perhaps 'sometime' could be sooner rather than later." She didn't know what it was - his confidence, the way he was constantly smiling at her, or the fact that he wasn't too bad on the eyes; but he certainly had Mikaela intrigued. Which she was still trying to figure if that was a good thing, or a bad thing.

He tipped his head at her, smirking at the compliment to his charm. "It's all in the eyes." He said, making a show of giving her a smoldering gaze for half a moment. He'd save the severity of that particular look for later. He chuckled at the look of shock that crossed her face, just shaking his head a little. "Yeah well, maybe I'll take you out and find a Country bar sometime." He said, giving her a wink as he said it.

He leaned close to her, far past that 'personal bubble' of space most people preferred. He glanced away just for a moment when their shots were brought to them, giving a nod to the bar tender in thanks before he returned his complete attention to the girl sitting next to him. "Sooner huh? I think I could arrange that." He said, bowing his head a little as he lifted one of the shot glasses and handed it to her. He kept his body leaned toward her, that smirk of his still playing across his lips. "By the way, I'm Cooper." He said, figuring she might at least like to know his name before he'd attempt to whisk her out of the club. He purposefully left his last name out of it. No need to scare off such a pretty girl just yet.

He was good. She couldn't deny that. Every word he spoke and every look he gave, kept her that much more interested to see more. She couldn't remember the last time she found herself so quickly interested in a complete stranger. Especially interested enough to allow him to be only inches away from her, without even remotely pulling away from him. "So you're planning on taking me out then, are you?" She inquired with a look of pleased curiosity. He was a bold one, assuming she would even be obliged to going out with him, without even so much as knowing his name. Of course she had given up playing coy long ago, as he continued to invade her personal space without even a hint of reluctance from her. Reaching for the shot that was handed to her, Mikaela took the opportunity to draw nearer to him, once he had briefly pulled away. Crossing her right leg over her left, she absentmindedly began to brush her foot along the leg of his pants - her own lips curling up in a smirk that mimicked his. "I'm Mikaela," She responded back, being satisfied that they were at least on a first name basis, before her behavior got any 'worse'. Raising her glass up in the air, she nodded, giving a cheers before tilting her head back to take the shot. The liquid slid down her throat with ease, before she wrinkled her nose at the taste. It was drastic change from the sweet drink she had previously downed, but she could handle it like the best of them.

Shrugging casually, Cooper gave her a coy grin. "Maybe. If you play your cards right." He said, chuckling a little after he said it. Cooper was good at reading people, hell he had to be for his job. He noted every single thing about her then, his senses sharp as goosebumps raised on his arms when she brushed her foot along his leg, her body dangerously close to his. She smelled fantastic and it was driving him crazy. Ever one to keep his cool, he smiled a bit and watched her take her shot before he mimicked her movements, taking his in one deft move. "Mikaela..." He repeated, rolling her name out to make it sound longer. "It suits you." He smirked, before putting his shot glass upside down on the bar.

Without another word between them, his hand raised to brush against her cheek, fingers smoothing over her jaw line as he brushed his thumb over her lower lip under the guise of catching a few left over droplets of the liquor she'd just had. He was in full-on smolder mode now, and made no apologies for it.

Mikaela's eyes fell away from his for a moment, as she watched him place his shot glass down onto the bar. The only response she gave was a smile, as her name fell from his lips. It was the last word spoken from either of them before they both grew momentarily silent. Her head tilted just slightly towards his hand, as his fingers lightly brushed against her skin. Suddenly she had forgotten all about the fact that he was still considered to be a stranger, and that she really knew absolutely nothing about him, other than a few obvious facts and his first name. She had become completely distracted by the fact that he had now drawn dangerously close to her - her only current thought being, 'what on earth was taking him so long to make a move?' When his thumb traced along her bottom lip, she didn't immediately react. Instead, her eyes just remained fixed on his, as if she were reading him like a book. It wasn't difficult to tell that his thoughts were along the same lines as her own, which made it that much easier for Mikaela to disregard retrain. "What are you waiting for?" She spoke just above a whisper, being sure that even if he didn't hear her, at least he would be able to read her lips. Leaning forward, she brought herself so close to him, that she could feel the warmth of his body only inches from hers. She was a tease, but it was in obviously in the best way.

Usually one to jump right in for the kill, so to speak, Cooper really had no clue what it was about Mikaela that made him hold back a little. Maybe it was the easy banter they fell into or the way she reacted to each of his moves, playful or otherwise. His eyes poured into hers, letting the sights and sounds from around them swirl into a blur. He loved this part. The drumroll, he'd heard it called. A little twitch of a smirk tugged at his lips when she spoke, and he just shook his head a little, moving his thumb to roll over the curve of her chin. "Usually I wait for a written invitation. Though I think now I'll make an exception." His voice was barely above a murmur as he moved in closer to her, his lips so close to hers that he could feel her breath against his own.

His free hand moved to smooth over her hip, holding her in place as he closed the small space between them. Capturing her lips with his own, he wasted no time to deepen the kiss into a heated, passionate embrace, one he had no intention of letting go of just yet.

For a moment Cooper didn't move a muscle. His eyes just stayed fixed on hers, as if just looking at her was enough for him. Of course Mikaela didn't bother to tear her eyes away from his any quicker. There was something about the comfortable silence between the two of them, that made her smile - as she had done for most of the time since he initially spoke to her at the bar. "Hm, exceptions in my case are always a good thing," she muttered just as he began to close in the space between them. Her head tilted only slightly to the side, as he brought his lips within a few breaths away from hers. She could almost feel them brush against her lips as he paused for a moment - the gentle touch of his hand to her hip setting off a chain reaction as her eyes then fluttered closed, followed by the parting of her lips to his. The warmth of his lips sent an immediate chill up her spine as they pressed to hers. The feeling of his tongue tracing along her bottom lip as he deepened the kiss elicited a soft sound of approval, as she welcomed the pleasing sensation. Having no regard for the crowd around her, she brought her hand up to rest against the back of his neck, tugging him closer to her as she too began to slide forward against the stool where she sat.

His hand moved to grip gently against the back of her neck, keeping her there as he deepened the kiss. Before he could only think of what it would be like to kiss her luscious lips, but the reality of it was so much better. The smallest rumble of a pleased sound escaped his lips when her lips parted against his, and he didn't waste a second to deepen the kiss. His tongue traced against hers, delving into her mouth as he held her tightly there. He had half a mind to pull her off of her stool and onto his lap, but even he didn't have that good of a balance to do it without breaking the kiss.

After a moment or two he his lips away, but just enough to suck in a deep breath. "Hey..." His voice was thick and gravelly as he spoke, betraying how turned on he was. "You wanna get out of here?" He asked, his eyes again opening to greet hers, though he was much closer to her than before. Whatever he had in mind for the rest of the evening was nothing that should be done in a crowded night club.

Mikaela could feel Cooper's grip on her tighten, as his kiss became more urgent. It almost caused her to break the kiss with a smile, but she was enjoying the feeling of his lips pressed against hers far too much to do that. Gently biting down onto his bottom lip, her tongue slipped past his lips to taste him, as her fingers began to trail up his neck and through the back of his hair. It took her a few seconds to open her eyes once she felt him pull away. She could feel her lips beginning tingle as she pursed them together, just before a smile crept up on her at the sound of his words. It was as if in that instant, he had read her mind. The club had grown far too crowded and noisy for her, within a matter of minutes. Lifting her chin towards his, she placed another soft kiss against his lips - this one brief - before pulling further away with a short nod. "I do," she responded shortly before brushing a few strands of hair out of her eyes. "Somewhere a little less public, would be nice." Biting down onto her bottom lip, she flashed him a quick suggestive grin before grabbing her purse off of the bar's counter top, making a small gesture with her hand, to allow him to lead the way.

The slightest rumble of a groan came from deep in his throat when her teeth bit at his lip, even the gentle way she did it spiking a shudder of pleasure to course down his spine. The feel of her fingers against his neck, coupled with their tangling tongues was enough to make him want to throw her over his shoulder and carry her right out of the bar. His eyes poured deeply into hers when she looked up at him, never even glancing away. When he was with a woman, especially one as intoxicating as she was, all his attention was hers. No question about it.

His lips tugged up into a little smile after she placed another kiss to his lips, something about the cute way she did that making him smile. Leaning closer to her, no longer under the guise of having her hear him better, he smirked a little and brushed his lips against her ear. "I just live a few blocks from here." He murmured against her ear before he dropped his lips to press a kiss to the nape of her neck. He might be too forward, but he hadn't seen any signs yet that he was out of line. Pulling back from her, however reluctantly, he slid off of the bar stool and took her hand snugly in his before he led her through the crowd toward the door. Hopefully she didn't have any qualms about motorcycles.
