Sam nodded. "Monday afternoon, yeah." He knew the doctor couldn't help him with the real issue, he wouldn't even mention what was really causing his headaches. But pain pills would help the symptom, at least, and maybe allow him to function most of the time.
Just like people where Lydia came from weren't aware of the werewolves, people where Sam came from weren't exactly aware of Lucifer's presence. Oh, they had to notice the signs, because there were unexplained happenings all over the world. But most people were willing to shake it off once the oddity passed, no one really wanted to look into what was causing strange things to happen, because no one wanted to admit there really were monsters under the bed and in the closets.
Sam had allowed Lucifer to gain a foot hold on earth, and Sam had thrown him right back into the pit where he belonged, without the general population ever knowing anything had happened. He'd take the headaches, because he'd saved the world, and he figured it was worth it.
"It's a pretty impressive story, isn't it, Cas?" Sam said to his friend, about all that Lydia had said. He actually found her story fascinating and wanted to know more.
