"Pretty sure we can order a pizza," Thomas said. He'd look for a phone book or check on his phone in a minute. First he wanted to enjoy Justine's smile, just one of the things he loved about her.
He had a little more motivation now, to find out what was going on here. Lincoln River pulled people from their home and drop kicked them into this city. Who, or whatever Father Jacob was, there was some serious mojo going on. And while Thomas could accept that he'd been whammied, he wasn't so quick to just accept that Justine had been dragged into it. Especially since she was from several years in Thomas' past, and not in the best place physically or spiritually.
She was doing a good job hiding it, but Thomas knew her mind was all over the place. He also knew he could help stabilize her mania, but it would hard without being able to touch her. For now he had to trust that his being there would calm her, and that he would be able to protect her in this unknown world.
