"Tea sounds nice, thank you," she said with a smile, her attention turning to Aurora. Explaining the electronics seemed a good thing to focus on first, considering Claire was pretty familiar with those. And if Aurora had managed to use the network to talk to Claire in the first place, the brunette probably wouldn't have too much trouble learning.
Claire nodded, reaching for the phone. "It's probably a lot to take in all at once, but at least you're not the only one who is going through this. There are quite a few others who have been displaced, so you're not alone." Her smile grew warmer, and she glanced down to inspect the device she held.
It wouldn't do to try and teach Aurora how to use the thing if Claire herself couldn't figure it out. But she had used enough electronics in her life that it wasn't too difficult. She found it was already turned on, and held it up. "This is a phone, and it can contact others who have similar devices, you can speak to them from distances. Sort of like on the network, but with your voice instead. Each phone has its own number assigned to it, and if you dial someone's number, their phone will ring, and when they answer the call, you can have a conversation. Here, let me show you."
It only took a second or two to punch her own phone number in, then she hit the send button, making sure Aurora could see everything she was doing. A tinkling song began a few seconds later, and Claire then held up her own phone to show the call coming in. "See?"
