WHO: Justine and Thomas Raith WHEN: Friday night WHERE: Justine's house WHAT: Cooking breakfast and talking RATING: TBD STATUS: Closed/Ongoing
Justine had been here over a week now, and while it was still an incredibly strange place, she found herself settling in, making a place for herself here. It didn't hurt that Thomas was here, of course. At home she hadn't seen him in three months, which was already too long and with no particular chance of changing soon. And really, with all the things she had experienced, all the things she had heard about, being stuck in a magical little town really wasn't that weird.
And there was no Lara here to frighten her, no magical war to fear, just herself and Thomas in this cute little house that was...really more of a home than she'd ever known. And she...kind of liked it here.
She'd taken to sleeping downstairs on the couch, instead of climbing the stairs to her bedroom. It was just too difficult right now to walk up and down the stairs several times a day. Anyway, Thomas needed a place to sleep too, and for obvious reasons it was dangerous for them to sleep together. And at least if he slept upstairs in the bedroom, he'd be trashing the part of the house that she could hide from company, if any were to stop by. Not that any had.
This morning she'd awakened as the sun came in through the windows, and with care had showered, dressed, and gone into the kitchen to fix some breakfast. Tired, but still feeling more energetic than usual, she cracked some eggs and put some bacon on to fry, singing some little song softly to herself. She had no idea how long it would be until Thomas woke up, but she made enough for him, too, regardless. She hoped they'd be able to talk a bit more today, as she knew there were things he was leaving out. She didn't know what - but she knew him well enough to know that he hadn't given her the whole truth in their last conversation. Protecting her, probably. Which was gallant, but unnecessary, especially now that she had her vitamins, and her medicine to keep her thoughts and emotions more even.
