Dear Liane,
I was very pleased to receive a copy of your thesis today. I just have a few notes:
I see you're using the Liebs transform for step 3 on page 7. Liebs and Jackson have since proven that this is a specific case of the general Estrada equation; by using that you can remove several steps from your proof as well as making it more elegant. Your conclusion still stands, and nobody would fault you for doing it the way you did; it's still the more commonly used approach.
In diagram 2, how are you allowing for the dampening effects? Or do you assume a steady influx of power?
I notice you discarded the alternate solutions on page 5. I think I know why you did that, though the implecations wouldn't be obvious to most people. I will be going to Hogwarts on Thursday; I'd like to discuss this with you in person.
