Owl from Aristotle Moody to Dracaena Malfoy, dated 13 Sept 1942... |

Dear Dracaena,
I am truly sorry for everything I have done to you and yours. I do not expect you to believe me, for I have said similar things before and even meant them. I have no idea what I could do to convince you that this time will be different, that I have finally seen the error of my ways.
When I was a child I saw clearly, but I let myself be convinced that what I knew to be true was a lie. I do not offer this as an excuse; what I did in my blindness was inexcusable - I denied the truth I knew in my heart, that you are and always have been my sister and my sacred queen.
And now I must beg a favour from you. I know I have no right to presume on your hospitality, given how I have abused it in the past, but I have no place else to go. I would not even be asking you this if Eustacia had not suggested it.
Your devoted brother, Aristotle |
