I don't know if you've seen the Daily Prophet yet this morning, but it's very upsetting. I hope that you and Lavinia were nowhere near the Three Broomsticks last night.

Not that I think you were; you're Slytherins, after all, but on the other hand they never said who set the fire. You'd better not have had anything to do with it. I know what some of those boys you spend your time with are like; I hear all about them from their mothers, you know.

I'm sorry, though, dear. I'm in a bit of a mood. Your aunt Portia promised she'd give a tea this afternoon and then she took off and never showed up. I'm at the point, now, of calling the Aurors and checking with St Mungo's to see if she's been brought in. She didn't write to you, did she? Her friends don't know anything and I know she sometimes confides in you. I would be quite disappointed if you kept something like that from me, especially given that Alessio Zabini was supposed to get married yesterday, and you know how she used to feel about him.

You don't think she's run off with him, do you? Or with Yvon Malfoy, now that he's come to his senses? (Melantha Black won't shut up about that. As if she thinks I care.) Surely she wouldn't have. Not after what they did to her.
