This morning at breakfast, Jeremy Wood and Anthony Stebbins will be relieved of their badges. The new prefect for Gryffindor sixth-year boys will be Angelo Bruno, who will be given his badge upon his return from Cornwall. I have my misgivings about this choice but I am told that Professor Dumbledore is correct that the other two possible choices will all defer to Angelo anyway; at any rate, when he sees what has happened to Wood it will have an effect. I leave it in your capable hands to ensure that he understands his responsibilities. The new prefect for Hufflepuff fifth-year boys will be Albert Macmillan, who distinguished himself assisting Mr Pettigrew and Miss Lovegood last night.

Everyone who was found at the party has been docked twenty-five or fifty House points depending upon their level of involvement. An additional two hundred point penalty has been levied on Gryffindor because the organiser was a member of that House.

Quidditch tryouts will not take place. The pitch may be used for supervised exercise at Madam Potter’s discretion during daylight hours. There will be no more weekend excursions to Hogsmeade, and the Yule Ball has been cancelled.

We are considering sending those involved in the organisation of the party home for the rest of the year, though they will be permitted to return in the autumn and repeat the year. This would include, based on preliminary reports, the following persons: Jeremy Wood, Richard Pollard, Anthony Stebbins, Alfred Tucker, Blaise Thomas, Mimi Thomas and Bilius Lovegood.
