'... We're not? ... Why?' Because Althea had been set to crush Martie if he'd put a foot wrong during their first encounter. She was supposed to have been guarding the house, though, and he had just broken in. Neither she nor Madeleine cared if the window had been open - that was for Althea to leave if necessary. Not for the monkey to open the door. Even if she had told him how to get the deadbolt open.
Pausing, Madeleine tilted her head. It was hard to explain her view on the matter without coming across as a superior bitch, but then she supposed that many would see her as such anyway. "Because they lack our sense when it comes to general retaliation." Well, they did. "Personally, I would have rigged the whole house but the Myers have no bite. Nor are they fae-blooded." Thus not allergic. With a single-handed shrug, she moved on. Well, nearly. "They also have a rather boring sense of humour." That was one family that had exhausted her simply through her over-using glamours so they would not catch on to how bad a mood she was in and start that intolerable fussing. The remark about her and her cello pulled Madeleine back into a smile. Her vanity demanded it. "I know, but then no organising would get done and I vaguely recall that being the point."
'Agreed. They need seasons. Especially because then maybe her brother would have already had children and Lila would be happier.' Which technically meant she would not be there. Maybe. The snake wasn't sure on that part and Madeleine wasn't confirming because she was holding her breath. "Yes, that is what I'm saying." With a sigh, she crossed her arms over her stomach. It was a defensive stance, but she didn't rightly care, having decided she had every right to be such. "Maybe she does." Chewing on her lip, she removed bed linen from one of the boxes. It needed to be washed and put on the bed. And now that box was lighter. "The box with the iron has it scrawled on every side in big black letters," she added absent-mindedly. She was not thinking about pregnancy. She was thinking about getting her mother out of her room. The fireplace needed a proper grill... She'd need to buy one of those.
